Too bad. I had a set of "the headphones" that I really really enjoyed. The fit was great, I loved the low profile, the microphone for phone calls was awesome, etc... They were super sleek and unassuming. Sure, they weren't audiophile quality but it was fine for my use. The button press wasn't ideal, but at the same time, a lot of in-ear solutions have a push button integration. The Audio Passthrough method was perfect though... just a button press toggle. I lost the left earbud and couldn't get a replacement and went on the hunt for new pairs.

I moved from there to the Jabra 65t Elite Active, and they had terrible calling quality and felt huge in my ears. Then I grabbed a set of Gear Icon X. They were okay, but kind of glitchy and the left earbud would consistently stop working. I sent them back for repair, and Samsung just decided to refund my money instead.

That being said, since I am now headphoneless, I would've bought another set of the Headphone from Bragi. The hunt continues...

This is a bummer, but they probably saw the writing on the wall. Lots of new competition at a lower price point. Their Dash was the very best truly wireless headphone on the market for quite a while. I personally own about 50 apple computers and devices, but have always hated the headphones. Apple's headphones have never fit my ears and always fall out. Even if they didn't fall out, in my opinion the design is aesthetically horrible compared to the smaller in-the-canal wireless headphones. The sound quality from the Dash and Dash Pro was great. I also own the terribly named "headphone", but the physical buttons are horrible. The batteries on my original Dash only lasted about 2 years before they began fading and I could only get about 30 minutes on a full charge. I never used any of the advanced features (4D or whatever) as I found them hit or miss and didn't like to be out in public shaking my head around like I was having a seizure. I haven't tried out the Samsung Buds yet, but I think that may be where I do to next even though it will be crippled by not having an android phone.

Bummed to hear this. I bought the Dash Pro, and still consider them to be the best wireless headphones I own for exercise. The internal 4gb drive stores a ton of music, and the BT connection improved greatly in that model.

Great interface, awesome exercise tracking with HR, and well-built. I hope mine last for many years to come.

I had the original Bragi Dash. They were my first pair of wireless earphones so I really wanted to like them. The features were cool, they were comfortable to wear, and the sound was ok. Unfortunately the connection was extremely spotty and made for a very frustrating experience. I used them for a couple months before they got shelved. My understanding is that future iterations had a much stronger connection but I never tried.

Yes, the Dash Pro pretty much solved any BT connectivity issues. Extremely rare signal cut out. I use mine all the time.

I have a coworker with them who was kind enough to let me try them out. I tried every ear tip and none of them ever came close to fitting, thus:

- They did not block sound.
- They didn't fit.*
- Waterproof them all you want, you can't swim with them. Water kills bluetooth signal.

*My left earhole isn't the "optimal" shape for my AirPods either. However, they still fit well enough that I can actually hear music out of them.

- hence the Tailored.
- hence the internal storage.

bought bragi “the headphones”, sound is average. battery degraded fast. the real pain is those buttons. have to press so hard. they should make it touch-gesture based, similar to "the dash", but without those complicated functions "the dash" provides.

Hence custom fitting is very expensive.
Hence the earbuds still use bluetooth to connect to each other.

Please don’t comment if you don’t know what you are talking about. The ear buds only use BT to connect to the device you are streaming from. They connect to each other using Near Field Magnetic Induction.

The custom fitting was $500 including the Dash Pro Headphones. I would have easily paid this if I was in the US.

Clearly you don't. NFMI is a very reliable technology, the same that is used to synch 2 hearing aids. And, in the Bragi Dash, it works flawlessly.

That was quite an ill-informed post. When they first shipped the Dash were quite disappointing but subsequent firmware updates pretty much fixed those problems.

Let's look at some of the features of the Dash that Airpods don't have:

- Great noise blocking
- Better fit due to the range of tips/covers they came with
- Waterproof (don't think you an swim with Airpods in can you?)
- On device controls - play/pause/volume
- On-board storage for when you don't want to be tied to a device (note this is less of an issue now as if I run I do so without my phone but with my watch)
- 4D controls - so not only can I control music with a tap, if I have gloves on I can control music by a nod of the head

The customer experience with Bragi was variable - my experience was fine - others not so much.

No the firmware updates did not fix that problem, I still have them right now. And that is the problem with them. The 4D controls is a mess when you're moving, the on board storage was nice, and I suspect that all of those other features got in the way of them really buttoning down the bluetooth issues and or the hardware design of them.
