FYI, if anyone gets tired of the stupid safe volume limit, I discovered if you just swipe to increase the volume 3 times or so, it'll go straight to the maximum volume so you don't have to keep doing it with the app every time you undock them.

I don't know if this is a bug or by design but it isn't mentioned anywhere. Also note, this is using my older generation universal-fit Dash. So later generations may be different.

Interesting. Will have to try. I am picking up take 2 tomorrow morning.

Any updates? No news is ...not so good news, I guess?

Actually I got my revised set and used them on one flight where I watched a movie. It was a Bombardier regional jet so usually the AirPods are barely usable because that is a very noisy plane, however the Bragi were superb. There was a dramatic step change from the previous set. They are totally crushing my AirPods on audio quality, clarity, volume and noise isolation.

Will post more after I use it again today.

Any more updates?

Also, if it doesn't make too much of an effort or would be super weird, but I'm still interested in some pictures actually showing someone wear them and how much they stick out :)

I'm still happy with mine. I like them for audio and video on my iPad primarily. They are great at music, movies, and for using on the plane. For phone calls I still prefer the Apple AirPods because they are easier to carry. At this point the only thing I dislike about the Bragi Dash Pro is the size and weight of the charging case. It is a large object to carry around in your pocket. So I tend to keep it in my briefcase and only use them with my iPad. However they offer a substantial leap in sound quality and noise isolation relative to the AirPods and as such they are a must have for business travel. I wish they could make a lighter more portable case and if they did I would scrap the AirPods.

I'm curious if by now anyone else opted for the tailored Bragi and how people are feeling about them :) I'm still in the market for them, but with the price increase they're even farther to reach for me, unfortunately. $600 is a lot of money.

I wouldn't recommend Bragi tbh, just after reading a lot about them, and owning "the headphone", personally. I would only use super stable connection bluetooth devices; i.e. airpods or bragi elite active 65t and a few select others.

If you're putting Apple's Airpods and the Dash in the same category, you're completely missing the point of what people want/need and why they buy the Dash over Airpods despite being twice as expensive (or three times in case of the tailored one).

But, I am curious, what are those select others? I'm genuinely open to suggestions. I actually opened a thread about it just yesterday asking for suggestions/alternatives.

Btw, my husband is very happy with his Bragi Headphones. "Reading a lot about them" isn't exactly a good advice as it doesn't stem from personal experience. You owning the Headphone, is.

Edit:

I just looked up the Elite 65t and they have the same shape/way to secure them in the ear as the Dash/Headphones, so that's another no from me.

I regret the purchase. It’s not that they are bad, but the Apple Airpods are just so much more convenient. I own both and I used the airpods mostly. I haven’t used the bragi for a few months.

The bragi is bulky, finicky, requires more time to charge, discharges if you don’t use it for a week, and requires constant maintenance to clear out ear wax.

I’ve already had to send mine in for warranty repair twice too.

Wow, you had to send them in twice already? May I ask what broke?

It's a real bummer that literally no other company offers waterproof earbuds and only one (afaik) with internal storage and these are - of all - Samsung. Apparently this really is too much to ask for even in 2018.

@batman75 despite all, can you say a little more about connectivity?

I don't care too much about sound quality and charging time; I really mainly want to use them for exercising (I do have Bose QC35 when I need quality and as my main go-to headphones). Again, it's a bummer, especially since almost all of them seem to have similar connectivity issues - granted, at a fraction of the price, but still. The Airpods aren't an option for me for what I want earbuds for :-/

I apologize for being vague, it's because my research in this category was many months ago. My main sticking point is the connection/reliability, because IMO that is what makes or breaks the wireless experience. Unless something meets that expectation, IMO I don't consider it a good buy - despite scores in good sound quality, comfort, battery life, etc.

This is still a relative young product category, so the connection is getting ironed out, but apple is one of the few with rock solid connection. I personally don't think Bragi is there yet, although the headphone's are much better than the dash (probably due to less additional features, but similar size [less interference due to less electronics]), from what I read. I didn't have too many full drop out issues with the headphone, although I did have some. Finicky is the way I would describe them.

I don't even deny that Apple has the best tech and implementation. It's Apple, after all.

I keep saying this, I would have LOVED to see something like the Dash come from Apple. This is such a no-brainer for me. Even Samsung went that direction. Instead we got .... this. Yes, the connectivity might be many levels above any of the competitors. Again, it's Apple, after all. But they look ... hideous. I don't trust the fit for workouts. They're not waterproof nor have internal storage. Yes, I know, that's what the Apple watch is for...still doesn't let me go swimming and listen to music.

The Airpods are a solid product and good and sufficient for many, but at least for me, Apple greatly underdelivered in this department. I seldom was so disappointed then during the introduction of the Airpods.

This is what Apple used to be. Creating a "wow" factor. Trying something new, completely different. This time, Bragi did this - at least the idea. I expect, or rather wish, this from Apple. Revolution, not evolution.

I'm right there with you. I still make fun of people for wearing them to this day, I don't care how popular it gets.

It's just me, but the issue I have with AirPods/Earpods is that they are not insulating the surrounding noise in city downtowns. I can't imagine what's so hard to take that into account. There are times I have to commute with something else than my perfectly isolated Bentley and I'd rather hear something and save my hearing.

The first time I sent it in because of a manufacturing defect where it wouldn't sit on the charger properly and wouldn't charge. The second time I sent it in, I accidentally broke the audio ports while trying to change the wax guards. This part is delicate.

Connectivity has been pretty good. I have sometimes had issues with one bud going silent, but it is pretty rare. That said when I use it I tend to be operating in good proximity to the device it is connected to.

The only other pain point is the touch surface on the outside needs to be more precise IMO.
