This would be great! Only problem is, to conceivably utilize something such as this, a computer would have to entail and require almost a zettabyte of hard drive space-- which for those of you who don't know comes to 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes of memory.

I find the theory interesting, and it will certainly become a reality one day but not anytime within the next 50 years. Even then, you can download your brain but not your mind. You will never be able to download you mind.

Wow, this sucks...

I don't want my BRAIN DOWNLOADED ONTO A COMPUTER!

Why not? You will never have to think hard again. With a nice "Spotlight" type interface, your all set.

Only problem is, video, digital and any kind of other recorder will be obsolete simply because if you download your brain onto a computer, you can just use whats on your brain for the content.

Everyone will be able to remember everything this way. Lawyers will also no longer exsist. Justice department could just download the past month of a guys brain and see if their prime suspect did it or not.

"Brain Downloading" will in ever way, shape, and forum revolutionize the human race.

this isnt going to happen in 45 years. sure the technology will be around, but it won't be widespread or used as much as it could/will be in maybe 100 or so years

In 100 years or so, I have my doubts as to how many people will still be on planet earth. Good chances prove a good percent of this planets population will move to Mars within 100 years. Not all, but most. Earth will become a place where the retirees' go. Just watch... ;)

100 years from now will also bring about pioneering space crafts which will take our race to the end of this solar system and beyond. At which point, we will once again meet with our buddies outside of this network of creation (solar system - planets).

In the Year 2525

A song that still can speak to us today

Visage - In the Year 2525

In the year of 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find

In the year of 3535
Can't tell the truth, can't tell no lie
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the pill you took today

In the year of 4545
Won't need no teeth ,won't need your eyes
Won't find a thing to do
Nobody's gonna look at you

In the year of 5555
Your arms are hanging limp at your side
Your legs have nothing to do
Some machines doin' that for you

In the year of 6565
Won't need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your sons, pick your daughters too
From the bottom of a long glass tube wouwo

In the year of 7510
If god is commin' he should make it by then
Maybe he'll look around and say:
"Now it's time for the judgement day!"

In the year of 8510
God is gonna shake his mighty hand
He'll leave a salient place where man has been
Or tear it down and start again wouwo

In the year of 9595
I'm wondering if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything earth had to give
And he's put back nothing wouwo

Now it's been 10.000 years man has cried a million tears
For what he never knew now man's dream is through
But through eternal light the twinklin' of starlight
So very far away now it's night to yesterday

You will be assimilated

The Borg are obsessed with reaching one goal, obtaining perfection. They believe that all races are chaotic and flawed and that they can be perfected by enforcing order and using technology to supplement biological inadequacies. Thus, the Borg have adapted a single collective mind to eliminate the chaos of an individualistic society, and they have either developed or assimilated cybernetic technology to bring even biological systems to order. The Borg believe that by forcibly doing the same for other races, they are bringing those races, and themselves, closer to perfection.

This reminds me of something an english teacher of mine once said. He honestly believes that if people continue just sitting around and using computers, they're going to wind up with huge heads and eyes, tiny little hands that excel at typing and barely any leg power. What a freaky looking person that would be.

Anyone remember articles from the '60s with claims like, "in the year 2000 there will be flying cars and robots cooking dinner."

Introducing the new Mac OS. With 150+ features, there's something for everybody.

The new Spotlight. Quickly search through your brain on your computer.

The new Dashboard. Recall anything that you have to remember, instantly.

Updated .Mac utilities. Now quickly keep your brain in sync with other computers with automatic backups.

New parental controls. Having problems with your child? Upload a fixed version of their brain and be good to go!

Fast personality switching. Because you've always wanted to do that cool cube effect in real life.

This article is somewhat ridiculous. I'm not a naysayer, but seriously, why is life getting so freakin' weird?
