For the last time, I was not trying to commit fraud or scam anyone! It was a hypothetical question! I was having a couple problems with my currents iPhone, so that's when the question popped up. A lot of times I'll have trouble with the touchscreen; sometimes I'll have to touch the back button a million times before it actually goes back, or I'll tap the first email and it keeps on selecting the third email. The problem is, what if it works when the guy at the genius bar is looking at it?

Also, do you think I'd have to sell it for a lot less if I couldn't find the original headphones, cloth, or usb connector? I have apple headphones that are in great condition, and I have a working usb connector, they're just from different apple products.

I'm not an eBay expert, but usually your product has a higher value when it looks more presentable. People just like seeing "boxed up" things.

It would be helpful to someone who will actually USE it to have the original headphones and connector, but this iPhone will 99% not be used by someone, but will be resold after being unlocked. Which brings me to another point: If you have time and patience and can do it, unlock your phone. You automatically get 100-150 bucks for spending 30 minutes doing it. I was lazy and didn't want to but it is SO easy to do these days that people will love if you did.

Restore it to 2.0 after you finished unlocking it and you have a 500 dollar device, let alone all the crap you throw in.

If I do get my phone replaced and get another refurbished one, and keep it in the plastic, I'd think that people would choose a phone that looks like it's in better condition than one with the original headphones and usb connector. I do still have the box though. Also, should I ship it worldwide? I've heard lots of things about scams, so I'm nervous to do so.

Like I said, I sold a cracked screen iPhone for 250 bucks. People just want these things to unlock and fix for 30 bucks. Then sell them for top dollar to some other rich dude in another country. It's up to you whether or not to go to the Apple Store.

I shipped mine in the US. I don't think you should make it available as a world wide option. To be fair, keep shipping under 10 dollars.

Did you auction yours or use buy it now? What would be a fair starting bid/ buy it now price?

I sold two iPhones on eBay so far. The first was sold to someone in Texas and they paid $20 shipping. The second one was sold with $15 shipping after I realized it cost just under $15 to ship the first one.

First phone sold for $375 + $20 shipping
Second sold for $320 + $15 shipping

I have a third for sale on eBay now and it too has the shipping set for $15. People don't mind paying for the shipping. As mentioned above, I only ship to the U.S.
