Yeah no kidding. I was trying to downgrade to 2.2.1 and jailbreak so I can get access and then restore to 3.0 and hoped that work, but I can't even get to 2.2.1, after it unpackages the .ipsw I get a 1600 error.

Edit: Tried it on my MacBook, Windows 7 x64 on my MacBook, Windows 7 x64 on my PC, and now Windows XP on another PC, seems like I'm getting some progress, I'll update when it's finished.

Any progress?
I just tried it on another computer running vista, but the same unknown error code of 1013 again

Nothing. Called Apple and they said I was SOL, bring it into a store. Unfortunately they have no appointments until Saturday, which sucks because I'm most likely heading out on a vacation tomorrow.

I got mine replaced about a week ago due to a crack, luckily I haven't jailbroken it yet. I wish there was some way around it... too bad we're the only two in this thread :p

What happened to the other guy that had the same problem here?
Did he fix it? lol

Haha he was banned...
This is starting to absolutely kill me.

Haha, oh dear!
Yeah, it's driving me crazy! The only soloution i have come around to finding is waiting for the dev-team to release the jailbreaking software to fix the baseband problem.
All this is so confusing... i have no idea what's going on anymore lol

Ok, so i have got mine to work and it's performing a system restore as we speak.

The only way i managed to get it working was to jail break the 3.0 software using redsn0w.
when open, the program is pretty straight forward and self explanitory.

You can download it here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=842KJ02X
(You'll also need the 3.0 restore.IPSW file too) Download that here too if needed: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YSPOTNN6

After completing the jailbreaking you will need to open iTunes and restore from your back up.

Hope this helps you should you decide to use this option )
