Bright Spot Issue - Air 3 and Pro 10.5 Comparison

Really. Wow looking on Apple website they state numerous tests etc etc for refurbs. That's really bad.

Where is the spot(s) ? Can you show any pics?

It wasn’t an Apple refurb. He bought essentially an old used iPad.

It wasn't from Apple. It was from Blinq.com and $380 + tax. It's not a real tested refurb like Apple's.

Just bought a used / refurb 10.5" and it has the white spot. Freaking Apple should be replacing these for free at this point.

Sorry to hear that. But could you please provide a bit more details, like Manufacture date?

What about those white spots, which occurs on some other part of the screen (in corners) and not the centre?
As, I have read this thread entirely and many of them have found it on different areas.

I’ve looked through the bright spot thread and elsewhere, the vast majority of problems seem to affect this area of the display. The incidence of having a problem in another part of the panel seems to be far lower.

Also, from the few pictures I've seen of other affected areas, they are far smaller in size.

This is a primary reason why I'm sticking with regular iPads in lieu of the Pro line. The regular non-laminated displays are already excellent.

Anyone tried opening their iPad up and removing the shield covering those connectors?

I’m sure those connectors would stay firmly seated just fine without the shield in place. And since we are speculating the bright spot is due to a combination of heat/pressure, then removing the shield might reduce the pressure and prevent the bright spot from forming.

Thoughts?
