Now taking all bets. How will it charge?
  1. USB-C
  2. Lightning
  3. Magsafe
  4. Standard EV DC-Fast options
  5. Apple proprietary charging technology with a $1500 adapter (optional) to use non-Apple charging stations?

I'd feel better if it had at least some user-control.
Yes - I understand that you feel like that, so do I.

But there are many reasons to skip the not-quite-self-driving stage. Like the possibility of people who for reasons such as bodily impairment cannot drive. Or, as I know all too well from someone close, can drive but has lost confidence in their body to do so safely and reliably.

Or the very simple wish to be able to have a drink or two and still get home.

Any need takeover, at all, renders the vehicle inaccessible.

I also have increasing concern about people who buy such cars, then run them in self-driving mode, and lose the experience and competence to takeover.

Although I learned on cars with manual gearboxes, I haven't driven one for several years. I'd get used to one again quite quickly, but I'd much rather need to in a quiet backstreet than suddenly on a motorway! Obviously far from a likely scenario (no-one would fit a manual gearbox to an electric vehicle), but an illustration of how skills fade.

Until that comes, I'll be happy with well-designed driver "support" technologies.

This thing is somehow retro and futuristic at the same time. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. Maybe if it was painted another color. Take my opinion with a grain of salt. I've owned both an Aztek and an Element.

I wonder if it'll have a MagSafe charger like the iPhone. Imagine a manhole cover sized puck that just sits in your garage and snaps into place when you drive in.

my expectations of Apple car will be losely based around Marc Newson's Ford 021C Concept from 1999. He was also the designer behind the Apple Watch. The Apple Watch was heavily inspired by his Ikepod Watch (including watch strap). He is also partner with Ive in LoveFrom company.

The design presented here is not that far from Ford 021C -> It has the same proportion, door opening, seats.
Also, the body is smooth without too many curves. So we are talking about upgraded version of this design:

A design from 22 years ago that totally disregards aerodynamics, sure…

looks like old 70s models like the nissan 240z

The only Apple logo will be on the exterior rear, dimly and tastefully lit from behind.

The seating will be back to back in 2 rows, all facing the side windows, which will double as iPad displays (when rolled up) about double the size of current 12.9” models. This will create functional workspaces for all passengers. The displays will be resizable to accommodate more passengers, up to 3 per side.

Seat belts will be referred to as “Safety Bands” and will be both removable and available in hundreds of colors and materials.

Siri microphones and speakers will be integrated into the headliner, as will the HVAC ports.

There will be no front grill or steering wheel.

Each seat will have heating and cooling cup holders as well as wireless charging ports which charge and connect mobile devices to the window screens. WiFi 7 will provide mobile Internet connectivity to 6G data carriers.

Anyone with an Administrator account to the vehicle will be able to navigate it and change settings as well as assign rights to other users. Only those with iPhones and iPads will be able to control the vehicle and play games using their devices as controllers.

The underside exterior of the vehicle will house a large MagSafe port for charging at MagSafe power stations without having to exit the vehicle.

Third party manufacturers, in addition to Apple, will sell multiple kinds of exterior “cases” to change the exterior color/finish and provide additional functionality, like GoPro attachments and drone launchpads.

The front and rear of the vehicles will be able to connect to the front and rear of other Apple Cars on interstates to form “Apple CARavans,” groups of cars that form trains and can collectively travel at faster speeds over longer distances.

The initial appearance of stock models will come in Space Grey, Stainless Steel Gold, Product (RED), Space Black, Stainless Steel Silver, Titanium Tangerine, Bonzai Blue, and an Apple Car Edition model in Ceramic White. A partnership with Hermes will provide a $249,000 version limited to a manufacturing quantity of 500, signed by Tim Cook.

The initial model will be followed by Pro, Sport, Lux, and a convertible Air version 2 years later. The Apple Car Air will be the lightest, fastest roadster ever made.
Love your imagination!

Yes! What the world needs is even more expensive luxury cars!
We need more electric vehicles, period. More competition — further development — less ICE vehicles on the roads. They will become less expensive as the major manufacturers see the potential.

Asked why thousands of Apple cars spontaneously combust on the highway CEO Tim Cook responded "They're driving it wrong."

One of my biggest concerns about the Tesla type products (software driven), long term support.
Especially as Tesla is moving to build vehicles to million-mile specifications. Assuming the structural battery doesn't die of old age, you're looking at autos driven ~40 years without exotic maintenance.
