I know how you feel. I have thrown phones at walls before. Not mobiles, just work cordless ones, but it does feel better afterwards doesn't it :) Unless your screen cracks :(

Lol we arnt here to talk about my anger issues! can someone please direct me to where i need to go to buy a high quality screen? Also, is there a difference in the 4 screen and the 4S?

----------

Is the screen cracked?

into possibly a million pieces.. alot of the glass is missing on the bottom left of the phone, probably the point of impact.

Should have also bought AppleCare+...... :(

I have insurance but it just seems like a big hassle.. they want me to fill out an affidavit, have my brother sign it, attach a copy of his ID and get it notarized before they will fix it or send me a new phone.. they want my brother to do it cause im under his companies AT&T plan.. and they are gonna charge me 200 after that lol

Jesus they want almost 200 for the screen assembly?? what do u guys think of this?

Buy from eBay, and buy one of the ones that are available in all the price ranges. Change the color too! They're usually pretty good quality. Just check the feedback score of the seller... good luck

It's harder to replace the front screen, because it has most of the components. Next time, crack your back screen. :p

An important question for all of you: how about the quality of the digitizer+lcd screen of iFixit? Crappy? Good? As good as the genuine from Apple Store?

I know this but i think i can figure it out! ;)

I guess im gonna buy it and see what happens!!

can't you still take it to the apple store and pay $199 for a replacement? probably the easiest thing to do

To the OP: Check this out.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A406 Safari/7534.48.3)

I would advice AGAINST opening any iPhone 4 or 4s.

Mine was opened and broke. Everything worked except the front camera. It's not the camera, it's something with the main board after removing the screen.

Don't do it. It's not worth it and white gets dirty very easily and looks like crap when every little space is filled with your black crud from your hands.

Don't do it.

If you don't believe me Google "front facing camera not working after screen replacement iPhone 4". And you'll see. I had the same issue. There's no way to fix it.

The people that have the threads in google were making a black iPhone white. Just like you.

Me. It happened after a cell repair booth here in Bangkok replaced my home button.

Same issue. Everything works and when you flip to the front camera the shutter gets stuck. Nothing fixes it. Not a software issue.

I took it to another repair place and they tried another camera. No luck. Just like the guys online. There is no fix for this problem. Once it's screwed it's screwed.

Maybe a replacement main board would fix it, but who knows

Don't do it.

So maybe it happens to one out of 4 or out of 10, but if YOU happen to be the lucky one you will never forgive yourself.

just take it to a local authorized repair shop:

http://www.apple.com/buy/locator/service/

Let them do it. they will likely know what they're doing, stand behind their work, and be cheaper/not much more expensive than doing yourself.

My dad broke his screen and it was $112 OTD from a local authorized repair shop.

Does the OP intend to do the work himself? Based on what I've read so far, I would recommend paying the $200 for a replacement. Installing the screen is no easy task. Very easy to slip something up. Frustrating working with smaller parts, screws.

Chalk it up to an expensive mistake.
