Hello, all! I have posted a video of my unboxing of the Brydge Pro 11-Inch Keyboard. I got in the first 1000 pre-orders and I got the keyboard today. This is more of an unboxing rather than a review, however it showcases it to a degree. I’ll say that after using it for this evening and editing the entire video on my iPad Pro...this setup is AWESOME so far. It is bulky, but it totally makes the iPad Pro into a little laptop. It’s really easy to pull the iPad out of the clamps to use as a tablet, but the feel is so solid.

If you have any questions, I’ll answer as I can! Enjoy!

Do you think there will be any issues with repeatedly removing iPad Pro and changing positions?

I don’t think so. The rubber feet are excellent and help with placing the iPad in the correct position. Great grip. I could see the rubber wearing down and the need to replace them in the future. The rubber is molded to attach to the metal feet. They moved once out of place...not to where it would effect the screen...but I just moved it back and it’s stayed in place.

I’m loving this thing.

I was definitely thinking of replacing Apple's folio keyboard with this. I'd miss the smart connector compatibility though. It's also kind of nice not having to worry about keyboard battery or any pairing.

I’ve used it for 24 hours and there’s no issues of pairing. Every time I open up the new “clamshell” the keyboard is connected. The battery lasts up to a year (per Brydge) and can charge directly from the iPad with the included cable as necessary. The battery is also tracked in the iOS widget for batteries, so you know how much juice you have.

For usage case...I took this to Starbucks without my MacBook Pro today to do some work this AM. Barely missed my MBP. I mean...whatever things I miss is because of iOS limitations...I simply don’t get as much done on iOS as I can on a computer at this point...but the gap is lessening. This setup feels great.

(REALLY...I don’t work for Brydge. I’m a pastor. I just love the keyboard so far! )

Thanks for posting and answering questions, much appreciated!
Still waiting for mine, looks like I have been pushed back to shipping first week in June..

Well, my question: so when you've opened the combo and found your preferred angle (on an stable surface) and are merrily typing away: does the screen wobble? There was one recent review-video where the screen wobbled A LOT during typing.

Thanks for the review. Have you had any issues using the swipe up gestures while the keyboard is attached? I was wondering if the close fit made those gestures hard to use? Thanks

Good question. I haven't noticed it...but I'll pay a bit more attention and get back to you.

I had that concern as well. I don't feel like there are any issues with the swipe up gesture. I have pretty big hands and fingers and I have had no problem with that. The backside of the keyboard by the screen actually slopes downward toward the screen, making it possible for better access for the swipe up motion. That might be a case-by-case issue though, depending on the person. I'm trying to train myself to use the home button on the keyboard when using it at this point, however.

Thanks! I thought I had heard that the backside sloped but I couldn’t remember where I heard it. By the way, thanks for the discount code. It worked.

Thanks! But that sounds good, if you haven't noticed anything so far (screen wobble while typing) then everything appears to be fine. Some minimal vibration/wobble is always to be expected, as long as it is not a nuisance.

Thanks again, and enjoy your new keyboard!

Can you share that code? :)
Hi there - unfortunately our THANKS20 promo code is designed for repeat purchases and is connected to the email address of a previous purchaser.

How long does it take for orders that have been made since this thread to ship? I ask because I also ordered one, guess the money was taken, told an email would be sent when shipping, and that's been it. No time frame of any sort.

I received mine last week. I ordered it on the 27th of March.

Wow. That is quite a turnaround.

I placed my pre-order May 17th. Since it was a pre-order the stated ship date was listed as “late May”. I received an email May 24th saying that the remaining pre-orders were being processed for shipment next week. I personally canceled my first pre-order because Brydge charges your CC immediately instead of at the time of shipping. No way I was going to let them use my money for a couple months before I received their product. Glad I waited to a much shorter wait time.

I really am torn between this and the Apple Smart Keyboard.

Those hinges really make me worry about the iPads longevity.

I have had mine for a week now. It is a brilliant piece of kit and thoroughly compliments the IPP.

It feels heavy to start with, but once you adjust to it, it just feels Right.

The rubber mounts hold the IPP very well and show no signs of marking the screen, or coming loose. They are thick enough to hold the device very well, but not so think that they look out of place.

I highly recommend this keyboard and am extremely happy with my purchase.

Just received my device, and I must say I am impressed. It is far better than the 1st generation keyboard, as this is my second one. The differences are in build quality and feel of the keyboard, and keys. It definitely feels much more like a laptop and typing has absolutely no lag!

I also ordered the leather folio, and it is true to the description, leather not pleather or plastic but real leather. Finally someone did it right!

Well done Brydge!

Got my Bridge 12.9 inch keyboard for 3rd Gen 12.9 inch iPad Pro. Have had it for a few days now and love it. It is probably best iPad keyboard I have used. It is of a premium material and alongside the IPP looks very premium. The typing is good though I prefer a keyboard with less travel like on current MacBook Air, though realise I am in the minority. I have not done lots of typing yet using it but am confident many will enjoy the typing experience. The keyboard by itself is not too heavy, though with IPP it is rather heavy which does not bother me, however, can be a deal breaker for some. If you fall in the later I would recommend Apple Smart Keyboard which I also have. This is very light. What the Apple Smart Keyboard does not offer is backlit keys and media short cut keys like the Bridge Keyboard does. There appears to be no noticeable lag when typing except when wanting to unlock the iPad by pressing keyboard. Again this is a minor quibble. The back cover that comes with it is something I did not like. Is a finger print magnet and I did not think it would stay on well. It though does offer some scratch protection. lastly, love the multiple angles you can have your IPP at, which you cannot on from its main rivals at this price point. Overall., fully recommend this from my early experiences. Alongside IOS 13 when this is fully available I am very happy with the full experience on an IPP.

I literally just got mine a hour or two ago, so can't really give a review or what.

But.... When someone says it adds weight, and it's heavy. Believe them, it is definitely adding some very sturdy heft to your iPad.

Something to consider.

I will hopefully be back later in the week with some thoughts, but it does make for a classy piece of kit, that you makes you excited for IOS 13.

This thing is big enough, that I find myself looking for a trackpad on it. :p
