Brand new 16" MacBook Pro, M4 Pro (2024), Model A3403, Sequoia (15.4.1)
I've had this machine for about 2 weeks and not once has it gone into dark mode by itself despite having Appearance setting on "Auto".
Night Shift is enabled and set to sunset/sunrise. (if I switch Night Shift to "custom" and dial through its time settings, I can see dark mode immediately toggling on and off). I prefer dark mode to toggle with Night Shift sunset/sunrise as it's supposed to.
Manually turning on Night Shift also does NOT enable dark mode.
Time Zone is correct and all Location Services are enabled.
I see a lot of threads about this issue in OS 14, but not much about it in OS 15. Was it fixed and it's just me, or did people just give up complaining about this? Are there known apps that will cause this to fail?
Thanks.
EDIT: So wouldn't you know it. The first sunset after posting this, Night Shift activated, but still no dark mode at first. Then about 45 minutes later, after waking from sleep, everything was in dark mode. Go figure... first time I've seen it work.
