Simple reason why Apple failed to catch this bug: they don't read their feedback submitted via Feedback Assistant. Dunno why Apple does public betas if they refuse to consider feedback from those who test it.
They read beta feedback. They just take forever to get to it. I’ve had a couple bugs I’ve submitted that were addressed before. They need to do a better job looking at bug reports in a timely manner though.

I'm mad that I wasn't the first one here to say "feature not a bug!" - this garbage OS 26 release doesn't belong on any Apple hardware. Whoever designed this bubbly crp which breaks the UI of all apps and puts borders highlights 3D effects and wastes space everywhere for UI controls which need to be invisible and stay out of the way until needed, these people who play with glass polyhedrons and glass toys all day and put out horrible UI work would have been fired or likely NEVER HIRED by Steve Jobs or Johnny or Scott and never would have gotten anywhere close to the UI design team if things were still being done properly at Apple.

I guess I got lucky. I'm running Tahoe on a Mac Studio M3 Ultra. I went from 15.6.1 to 26 without any issues, and I have a fairly complex set of Thunderbolt devices hooked up.

Wait - did no M3 Ultra users installed the betas or did this issue not show up until Monday? The former would surprise me. The later is both surprising and bad.

My M2 beta and GM installs were fine. Hope there’s a fix soon.

This is joke right? I saw this post on the community forum as an answer from Apple Support. Seriously? LOL. "They have no ETA on the resolution. They basically saying try with next release but we can't guarantee the successful outcome :("

I was on the developer beta all summer on my M3 Ultra, the issue seems to be coming from people who installed 15.7 first which only came out on Monday.

It's a feature to keep people safe from the horrible new UI.

You'll adapt pretty quickly. I did tweak on iOS to enable "Increase Contrast", which offered up cleaner lines, less blurriness. I prefer that. But that same trick didn't work well on macOS. On my M1 Air, I've already adapted and do appreciate some of the ingenious UI effects now in place. Give it a chance and you'll come to appreciate it, too. I'm confident in that.

Whoa. That’s wild. I knew it wasn’t something that had been identified in betas - we would have heard something before now. Again, wild.

Hm. Should be interesting. My M3 Ultra Studio is my production machine, so I decided to do the 15.7 update short-term, and go Tahoe when things cool down a bit.

I guess that puts me in a bit of a pickle, but I suspect they'll iron it out before I decide to go 26
