I had similar behavior during the beta on my Mac mini M4 where it would reboot and then just start installing again. At one point it seemed to even entirely invalidate the download and it had to download the beta again (I believe it was beta 8, but could be wrong).
Is this problem happening to all M4 series like the ultrawide resolution problem?

This is ridiculous!

I have a MacBook Pro (M4), no issue. My Mac Studio (M3), bought because of a lack of M4 Studios, does not upgrade? Talk about a product that seemingly got abandoned?! 🙄

Based on the discussion, it appears to only affect people with the M3 Ultra who update to 15.7 first and then to Tahoe. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/256136192?answerId=261569125022&sortBy=rank

So Apple simply just didn't encounter this issue when testing installs of Tahoe on M3 Ultra Mac Studio, but every consumer was affected?
It appears just to be a very select group of consumers who went to 15.7 first.

For me it was 353->354 on my m4 pro and m4 systems which matches the RC in the wikipedia article:

but if you went 350->354 and didn't have any issues, that might be quite interesting.
The 350 thing was just a mistake in what I remembered. The iPad RC ended in 340 and I remembered it being a multiple of 10. I just confused the macOS build number with the iPad one. Sorry about that.

Will macOS 26.1 have the Ultra M3 fix?
