It’s like Christmas morning all over again! Pictures and first impressions incoming. I’m pretty excited to try this out since my usual go-to is Apple leather and well, they’re kinda “meh” this year.
The first thing that hit me upon opening the box was the plush microfibre bed followed closely by the smell of leather that was almost like an assault... but in a good way.
The grain is subtle and looks great. All three buttons are perfectly responsive and feel like a direct extension of the phone’s buttons. The leather rises up slightly around them so they’re not so jagged when you drag your finger across them. This is neither a positive nor a negative for me but figured it was worth mentioning.
The camera cutout is straight leather rather than the plastic frame you see on Apple’s offering. It’s deep enough to offer lay-flat protection for the cameras.
The back lip of the open bottom is nicely rounded so there’s no discomfort resting on the pinky whatsoever. The color is more of a green than a blue. Here‘s some blue stuff and the cyprus green silicone for comparison:
First impressions after the full write-up/TLDR: presentation was top notch, love the smell, the color is gorgeous (Ocean is a very fitting name as it falls somewhere between green & blue) and it’s comfortable to use with the open bottom (in small amounts thus far), grain is very nice and the mute switch opening is large enough to get my chubby short nailed fingertip in to manipulate the switch with ease without being excessively large *cough Spigen cough*. Two big thumbs up to Bullstrap. Would buy again.
