agreed! that's the combo i've been wanting from the get go...however, since white iphone 4 wasn't available for reservation, i reserved a black iphone 4 and am planning to go to the apple store on launch and try to get a white one.

WOW! Grey looks outstanding. I hope a 3rd party makes a quality one. I don't mind paying $29 for an Apple bumper; as long as it is quality made and going to hold up.

Grey looks really really nice on my 3g. BUT after 2 friends laid their phone down and left / lost them in one week, I switched to florescent green. sure makes it easier to see / harder to miss.
Wonder how tightly the bumpers fit? they are so skimpy... Hope they stay on well. Probably get a bright color for my 4.
I will not be forgetting where I put my iPhone 4. Believe me. Green could also make it easier to steal. Something to think about...
These are a soft band. Apple's are molded hard plastic.
What does everyone think about a black iPhone and the green bumper? In the end it shouldn't matter what everyone thinks, but i'm shallow and want the general population to like me.

I personally think anything but white on white or black on black looks a little juvenile - at least among the current offerings. I do think the grey/silver pics look nice however.

black on black or grey on black looks the best so far. I am only looking at black iPhone since its the only one available right now. Hopefully Apple or a 3rd party will make that grey one.

I think they'll offer more protection than you think.
Unless you drop your phone on a pile of rocks, the bumper will make contact with the surface and not the phone itself. From a "normal" drop of about waist-height, the bumper should protect you from the majority of drops on a concrete/tile surface.
From much higher than that, probably not so much.
If you look at the bumpers on their website (in the Apple store) and zoom in on the pic of the top, you can see the slightly two-toned effect.
