My current watch is a Casio G-Shock, and I am constantly slamming it into doorways, tables, you name it. The only reason it still works is because it's a G-Shock, so I'm totally getting one of these bumpers.

I also like how this bumper will make the watch look less "like all the others". If you look at the poll in this forum "The Ultimate Poll: Choose Your Exact Apple Watch!", the most popular watch by far is the Sport / Space Gray Aluminum / Black Sport Band / 42mm.

I'm not sure if you read the technical specifications, but you can actually remove the watch from your wrist at any time.

That's it, now I'm getting one. It can be removed?

The point is damage is not likely to occur in the 30 seconds it travels untethered from my wrist to its charging location. Pointless product for 99% of Apple Watch users.

Your 99% statistic is 100% nonsense. It's supposed to protect the watch WHILE IT'S ON your wrist, not for the 30 seconds it takes you to take it off and connect to a charger, which is actually a really long time. Perhaps you're a sloth.

Yikes.

You've so eloquently managed to change my perspective. I now realize this debate is juvenile and continuing it is not a good use of of my time.

My final thoughts:

For the record the 30 seconds it would take to remove and plug in the charger is really the only time I feel it is vulnerable.

How many Rolex watches do you see being concealed in a bulky rubber protective case?

No. Never. It's a watch, it doesn't need a case and a screen protector. Would you put one on your Rolex?

This thread is reminding me that there are are going to be all kinds of ideas for how the watch gets used outside of the original intent. It will be very interesting to see what kinds of creative/whacky/off the wall things people come up with.

The only thing I'm willing to buy to protect my Apple watch would be a glass shield, or just a regular screen protector! thats it!

this
I'm hopping zagg will create something for the watch (pref glass) I just don't know how it will work with force touch

I don't see why some people are so narrow minded. I for one think this is a pretty inexpensive bumper @ ($20-30) that could come in handy on many different occasions.

Do I think it is the most elegant looking thing? Not really... but I wouldn't mind slapping one of these on if I was out cycling, hiking, at an amusement park, traveling, etc. Then once I am done with that activity, I would take off the bumper and use the watch as I normally would.

The link clearly shows that the bumper is deigned for those who are active...

Yea I totally agree with you, this appeals to me for those reasons as well. It's reasonably priced, not the worst looking thing. Definitely not something I would keep on all the time, but when the occasion calls for a little extra protection, this could be a good option.
