I don’t feel Telegram is secure. And I don’t like all that stupid functions, only to make it “as others app do”.

Does this mean we can now see the faces of extremists and scammers whenever they are plotting their schemes?
When a simple factual question like that gets a thumbs down hope those couple of people realize what that says about them.

How do you transfer files to different devices? Do you have different phone numbers on different devices? Curious..
You automatically have a saved messages thread that is basically a chat with yourself. You can just drop any file in there and you have access from all your devices. I use it a lot to send stuff to and from my work computer, where I can't use dropbox or other cloud services.

ICQ (I Seek You) too, no? I know that it was once the bees knees to have an ICQ account and I did too. The tech was originally israeli I believe, but now it's Russia-based. Still functions and I think has a large following too.

I also like Telegram. Sadly it has gotten a bad reputation of have being the go-to chat app for extremists. I don't know if that's the case anymore however.
I read that in an article online where a danish ISIS-researcher went undercover in some of the channels there and witnessed not so cool things. This was years ago mind you.

I guess all this could be true for any chat application, almost.
ICQ was a big thing in Russia between 2004 – 2010. Then in 2006 Pavel Durov rolled out VK and it was beginning of the end for this funny little thing ( Too sad, there was something intimate about ICQ and I missed those outrageously ridiculous sounds (like the famous "oh–oooh").

I guess Durov's focus on privacy sometimes has an inevitable opposite side when anonymous groups are taking advantage of it and create channels for harassing women "in the right way", for example (like recently)
