I use a windows laptop for work. I use my AirPods Max wired when I‘m on zoom calls.
See that’s another place where the Beats win, you can plug them into anything with a 3.5mm jack.
Due to that I also use them fairly regularly with my iPods and gaming consoles.
As I said, I absolutely love the wife’s AirPods Max. But the Beats just smash them in price and practicality, which to me is worth the drop sound quality and noise cancellation.

I am on the fence whether to order APM in April. I really don’t want to drop a load of money only for an update to be announced imminently.

Sound bites are suggesting 2024 though?

I previously had Bose NC700 and I was disappointed in sound quality and comfort, not to mention poor build quality.

Nobody is predicting an update this year.

Tbf that’s a refurb so perhaps the EOL designation is not related to new.

Well I just bought the blue ones and my return period ends Tuesday so I am pretty sure they will announce a new version on Wednesday…🤪 But on the flip side I got it on a day when Best Buy sold it for $449. Pretty sure any new ones will not be on sale for quite some time.

I caved and ordered. Mine arrived today and I've already worn them for about 3+ hours while working. So far, no complaints. Very comfortable. I don't notice the weight. Will keep my AirPods Pro for just work when I'm in the office, but for home and listening to music, these sound and feel great.

So I tested my new AirPods Max on a flight and compared w Airpods pro 2 and they were almost equal in nois reduc. APMax were only marginally better almost indistinguishable from each other. The APM did not sound twice as good and the AirPods Pro really surprised me. Listening to music at home the APM is again slightly better but I almost regret buying The APM so if you can live with things in your ears I would go with only AIrPods pro.

Buy it now. There’s certain products apple doesn’t update yearly or every other year other than maybe color refresh. There’s on so many new features they can release.

On another note Max sound great, but really it’s heavy and not as comfortable so AirPods 3 gets most of my use.

The Macrumors Buyer's Guide says they are "mid-cycle" - with almost 900 days since the last release.
In my stupid mind that cannot be meant literally.

That said: how are they for making phone-calls? Is the mic good? The primary use for my Bose QC25 is phone-calls at home (and occasionally putting on classical music or white noise in the office).

I would need new foam-pads for the QC25 but the cable does sometimes get on my nerves and I can't charge the iPhone while I have them on....

I don't really want to wear in-ear pieces. That's why over-the-ear is on the top of the list.
