Should I buy an iPhone X now? We're two months away from the new models but I'm definitely not interested in the LCD model and the Plus version of the X... So I've been thinking whether the new "regular" iPhone X model is worth waiting. What do you think?

I have an iPhone 8 Plus as well. Why not wait until the new models are announced? You can then probably pick up a discounted current year model or whatever they will call the 2019 model. The 2019 model may be lower priced as well. The new 2019 model will presumably have upgraded cameras, processor, etc.

This (if you can wait)

I'd buy one that is second hand or wait. I bought one off swappa so I didn't have to pay full price to get me by for now till the new plus comes out. Then I will sell this and get it.

I can only see two reasons to update now. 1. Your current smartphone is no longer functional or you lost it. 2. You can get an amazing, unusual deal on a current iPhone X.

Outside of that, I don't know why you wouldn't wait.

If you're planning on going on Sprint they are leasing it for new lines for $20 last I checked. Makes the final price of the phone after you include the purchase price at $610 dollars which isn't bad.

Why not sell the 8+? Instead of letting it lose value?

The iPhone X Plus is rumoured to launch in the same price range as the current iPhone X. It would be foolish to drop money on it right now.

How would it be foolish ? Maybe they don’t want the plus ? I’m paying a total of $610 on my x.

If you don't want the Plus, the iPhone X will be in an even lower price range of $700-800. It's likely to come with a better FaceID sensor, better display and newer features. For instance, the iPhone X ram management is poor on iOS 11 because of low ram and this year it's likely to get 4GB of ram. I don't consider the $100 advantage worth the new stuff you will miss out on.

Better display ? Not really . You’re not going to get much better . Ram will still be at 3GB. Ram isn’t an issue with iOS. For 90% of users the iPhone X will be fine and you can’t tell the difference. It’s not worth the upgrade game for the minor spec update. It’s a game I refused to play and now buy my iPhones in the spring for that reason

Not only that you can score a bargain, i got mine silver 64gb X for $579 less than Apple price, 2 days old.
If you can wait.

No way X plus will be same price a s current X. Their Dreamin.

I can wait. I just got bored of the 8 Plus.

I’m not specifically targeting your post, but just certain words that you used have enlightened my thought process. I just don’t understand how someone gets *Bored* with an iPhone or smart phone in general. I mean, it’s a phone that you use every day to make calls, it’s a notification device, emails, camera, ect. I think all smart phones in general eventually get boring, that includes the iPhone X. Really because they all have the same functionality, and the hardware eventually euphoria fades, where it really comes down to the software experience. I just want to clarify this, because I do see other saying ‘I got bored of my iPhone’, I never really found smart phones exciting to begin with, as its a tool.

Probably the new feeling of a phone but that only last for few weeks

I would absolutely wait. You're only 3 months out, so you might as well explore all options. If you don't like the new offering, you can get the X for even cheaper once the new ones are coming, as everyone will be dumping last year's phones. If you do like the new ones, you'll be really glad you waited.

Take it from me. I bought an iPhone 7 a few months before the new ones, because I wasn't interested in the X and I figured I might as well upgrade and get a better phone. BIG MISTAKE! Even though I didn't want the X, I now REALLY wish I had waited a few more months and at least gotten the iPhone 8. I basically paid the same price I would have paid for an 8, and now I have a phone that is one generation older.

Just delay gratification for a few months, man. You can do it.

Wait.
I think X is gonna be fastest dropping value iPhone. Early Adopter punishment.

XsPlus rumored at 999

Pushing new A12 powered X down to at least 899

The new A12 powered budget 6.1 down to at least 799

And the old aged A11 powered X all the way down to at least 699, maybe lower depending on what the 6.1 budget phone is pushed down to.

What used to be a $100 price drop will be $300.
