128GB is not future proof. I have 256Gb ssd on my air and it had my pictures on it and i am left with 40gb only. i transfered my pictures to Synology so now i have some space but even then 128gb is very less. i have external hard drive as well 500gb! yes the 256GB one is for 1424 on bestbuy!

thanks for telling me its 2015. i have synology with 3TB RAID. and as far as the deal is concerned i know about this deal since 3 days. So no need to be cool. i dont want to get 128GB. end of story.

ps dont try to be jerk next time. thanks!

I get what you mean, but hell future proof for me is until there is a new re-designed one lol. Which i think the MBPR will get drastically slimmer in the next two years. Apple notebooks have awesome re-sale value so I'm always tempted to upgrade.

I get having a ton of pictures. But i never need ALL my pictures on my computer "at hand". That is what my externals are for, but i understand everyone is different. I filled up my gaming PC 1TB, but each triple A game is like almost 50GB, so it goes quick.

As for me on this 128GB, hell that is MORE than enough for me as i stream mostly everything. And my media/movies/pictures i watch on my big TV where my external HDD is connected too :)

no you acted like a jerk for trying to call me a jerk. and yes 16Gb iphones are fine for me. laptop is a different thing for me. and once again thanks for your input but i am not looking at the 128GB one.

"are you kidding me? 128Gb seriously? nah man! 128gig is too less."

man, what a nice guy you are!

yes i totally get your point but i am not going to replace it with the newer one in nearly 3-4 years or make it 5 years minimum. That is why i am more attracted towards 256Gb. according to my calculation i can get the 256GB one for 1323$ after applying bestbuy student coupon and 10% movers coupon.

it's not about winning...it's about helping people on a forum. not being jerks.

okay sir. i really appreciated your help. but you are late. i know this deal is going on since 3 days but as i said earlier i am more attracted towards 256GB ssd. happy now?

i could care less what you do man. spend $400 more for only 128gb of storage.

Force touch, extra battery life, much faster SSD, faster graphics.

Also the 2015 can do 4K at 60hz external display. The 2014 can't.

If you only plan to keep it 3 years and then sell it the 2015 will sell much easier than the 2014.

Great advice right here.

Alternatively, you could buy the 128GB one on sale and then use a tailored SD card to expand your storage for less speed-intensive items, such as music:
