I have bare iPads but this phone does need a case. It's much more slick than the Note 2 which begged for a case so a case this 6 Plus will have.

I got the Apple Leather case and love it. Will be getting the product Red version next.

case monkey is my favorite case - again.

i dont like those big bulky cases even though I can see the appeal of covering the screen in case you are the type of person to drop it a lot...

I am a sucker for the custom cases. I loved the one I made for the 5 so I just made another custom one for my new iPhone 6... slap my logo on the outside and rep it!

I used case monkey to make my custom iphone 6 case i think they have one of the easiest apps to design your own and the prices are good. (http://www.case-monkey.com)

I'll post a pic of it when I get it in the mail :) :apple:

I picked up this clear Insignia case from BestBuy for $15. I didn't really like anything else I saw and I haven't made it to the Apple Store yet to look at the Leather Cases.

I had that case for my iphone 5 and the clear backing somehow sticks to the paint and slowly destroys the paint. Look up some reviews on the iphone 5 version.

IMO, i would return it.

But their cases are way too overblown. The defender will actually damage the phone if any particles/debris gets between the phone and the case.

I've never experienced it damaging my phone, but yes you can get some mild scratches from dirt, sand etc. if you don't clean the inside of the case periodically.

I've used the defender case on my iphone 3G, 4, 5 and won't use anything else. Between me, kids, dogs and whatever's around the next corner, my phone just always seems to get dropped.

Could not find one locally in stock for my new iphone 6 so I ordered directly from otterbox. Their website states it may take 48 hours for processing. I ordered it Friday morning and got an email early in the afternoon stating it had already shipped. It's due to arrive on Tuesday ( I paid $5.00 extra for expedited shipping).

Like others have already stated Otterbox has really good and responsive customer service. I can't say that about most companies these days.

Anyway, just wanted to throw in my two cents and support for a great product.

I'm shopping for a black polyethylene case for an iPhone 6. Flexible like rubber but never sticky. Belkin used to sell them for the iPhone 4, but didn't make an iPhone 5 version. Does anybody know who sells what I'm looking for?

No mention of SwitchEasy? For shame. I have their TONES case on my iPhone and 5 and just pre-ordered the iPhone 6 version.

I think that I might have been sold on their Numbers case, but the "pre-order" label is a bit of a buzzkill. Were you given any indication of when your own pre-order could arrive?

I heavily recommend Otterbox, they have the best customer service ever.

Lol, as much as I DON'T want companies to know this... I'll take a perfect product with lackluster support over a piece of crap hideous product (even with no questions asked replacements) EVERY time.
I absolutely HATE the Otterbox brand cases. They're to me like the worst parts of Bose or Beats headphones... In other words: just a brand name to those too clueless to know anything about actual quality or style.
NOTE: sole exception- the Reflex case
I work at a Verizon store & do the sole ordering for our location. As such, I have tested out dozens of cases over the last three years I've held this position (perhaps even a hundred).
I have to say- in the quest to find the elusive "perfect" case that protects almost as much as a Ballistic, but is not much thicker than a Pinlo BladEdge.. & gives a remarkable gripping surface, the absolute best case by a wide margin, that I'm aware of, is the DropSuit by Body Glove. It looks like so far they only are making the color black for iPhone 6, so I got a Spigen Ultra Hybrid w/ clear back & gold bumper to tide me over. At any rate, back to dropsuit details- it is just barely thicker than the phone itself & has a few raised nubs/indentations on each side that align with your fingers for better grip than I've seen on ANY other case at any price point. I can't speak more highly of it.
Hope this helps some of you!! =)
Oh... I also put on my usual screen protector- the Zagg HD. If you haven't used Zagg for a while, note that this product has the same durability as their original, but addresses the two previous weaknesses; to whit: yellowing occurring over time & blur when viewed at angles. I can attest that the HD version remains crystal clear.

Well, good thing we all have the freedom to choose what we like best, isn't it? :)

Personally I love the Otterbox Commuter case, and a very reliable and friendly customer service makes it an even better purchase.

The Radius is missing from the list of cases.

I'll do that.

Also that case is just one to get me by for a week until I can get to the AppleStore and pick up one of the leather cases. Probably Midnight Blue.

I hate that this is going to sound like an advertisement, but I really just wanted to share:

http://www.zazzle.com/iphone+6+cases is having a sale where you can enter in the code hurray4cases in the coupon field and get 50% off, instead of the 25% code that they're advertising on the top of their page.

The Twitter account that I learned this from says that it's "good through Sunday", so I'm kind of annoyed that I learned of this somewhat late in the evening, with far stupidly too many options to choose from.

I've no connection with either of these linked-to companies.
(Maybe a better way to have phrased that would be: I've never ordered from Zazzle and can't vouch for whether their cases are sh* or not.)

I picked up the pelican case for the 6, 50$ and already one of the best cases I've ever had for that price, comes with a clip, and 2 screen protectors. The other very cool feature is that it has 3 small rubber flaps on the bottom to access your ports. These "flaps" have built in angled "vents" if you will, which in turn helps aim the sound from the speakers twords you, and makes for some great sound quality. Very thin, and sleek, feels like I don't have a hunk of rubber around my phone

SPECK have been my go to iPhone case since forever, although their limited colours and design for the 6+ compared to the 6 is disappointing. Oh and the fact that they appear to have sold out of all their current stock....

I'm using the 4.7" one. It's really thin, but feels quality in the hand. Also, it feels like it's just thick enough to protect it from a light to medium drop.

It's no Otterbox, but the huge tradeoff isn't worth all that bulk.

Yeah, I wanted wanted one because the curved design seemed slipperier than the old brick design.

Had the leather case on my 5S for the entire year I carried it. It's the best case I've ever seen or used. If you want Otterbox protection you won't get it with this case, but I find it's great for protecting my iPhone from scratches, while not making the phone a big, bulky box.

I also have the Apple leather case on my 6.

----------

Is that Apple's "leather" case really real leather?

Yes.

Draco Design
Not only they look awesome, but I've been using one for a year and my iPhone 5s is in perfect shape, even after dropping it countless times.
:D

Right on! ;)

Hilarious that you thought the cases in the article were ugly, but you linked to those hideous monstrosities... LOL

Mmmm my favourite is Apple's black leather one.

I think the Apple cases are easily the best of those shown here. Certainly the least gaudy. I ended up getting the Apple leather case because it hardly adds any bulk and blends in with the phone, although I do miss the black/silver/gray contrast because it covers the sides.

I'm sticking caseless with my 6. I stopped using a case in my 4s over a year ago when I realized the only time I had dropped it over a two year period was when I was riding a brevet. I spent probably nearly $75 going through a few cases to get one that I liked, which I feel is too much. I ended up using a screen protector on the front and a film on the back to protect against minor scratches and just used a case when I was training or in the mountains. It also was much nicer to use caseless.

I'm taking the same approach this time. The money I will save on buying various cases goes to Apple care plus, and a screen protector and back film will be enough protection in day to day use. If I drop it and it breaks, that's what Apple care plus is for.

This weekend I found this nice film that covers the back and sides of the 6 and provides much more grip. It works really great. That and a screen protector and I'm set.

anyone know if the speck candyshell grip for 6 plus are available in store at best buy yet?

Yes! =)
To be clear- I don't begrudge your decision. I just felt like balancing it. Those not in the know may feel like the Otterbox is their ONLY choice if they care about their phone.
Their advertising is very, very, very good. I didn't think we needed more yes men for them, merely a counterpoint. It has been my experience in literally thousands of accessories sales, that when in comes to Otterbox, the vast majority of owners do NOT like the product. They suffer through having an ugly & bulky case to some extent ruining what their smartphone experience could be, because they naively believe it necessary, to adequately protect their investment.
I take pride in helping people find alternatives that they can actually enjoy & be proud of.
As another aside: of the cases mentioned here, thought I'd let people know... I've owned many, many Speck cases & while they look amazing (I'm a sucker for the fabric argyle ones!), they tend to fall apart very quickly. There is a little rubber lip present in the back of some of their cases... I've never had it not peel up before the three month mark. Incipio, however, of the more mainstream cases- is very long lasting, & has a good protection to bulk ratio as well.

By all means make people aware of the alternatives! :) But I think it's quite unnecessary to deride the competition in such an exaggerated way as "just a brand name to those too clueless to know anything about actual quality or style".

If people don't like Otterbox cases because they find them ugly, then don't worry, they won't buy them in the first place! I also don't think that people buy heavy protection cases because they "naively believe it to be necessary". They buy them because they actually feel it to be necessary. Leave that choice to them rather than insult their intelligence.

I can attest to Otterbox cases being very high quality. Two times my Commuter saved my 4S from certain death as it fell down quite a height and bounced numerous times against rock and concrete. Was I "naive" to believe it was necessary to buy that case? I think I was empirically proven to have made the right choice. My 4S would have been utterly demolished in a less protective case. - And to top it off, Otterbox replaced quickly and without question both cases broken in these accidents.

And is it ugly? Well, that is totally subjective. For me it wasn't, so I bought it. I still think the Commuter is one of the best looking cases for the iPhone.

I don't know why you think that Otterbox has a ton of "yes men" around, honestly I've not seen anyone but myself recommend their cases on MR this time around! The big name right now seems to be Spigen.

So, by all means take pride in helping people find alternatives. But there's no pride in smearing the competition. Especially while disqualifying people's subjective taste. Such anti-propaganda only makes you come off as a shill for the other case makers.

Noted.:)
Apologize for the tone.

Back on topic-
Lol, I think there must be a "defend your decision" issue regarding Spigen. They honestly, are NOT good cases. I got one because it was readily available, but it is marred on the inside. It shows because the back is clear. Literally every person that I've shown my new iPhone to tries to do me a favor by rubbing it off. "That doesn't come off, buddy. I own a crappy case." =P
