No one knows when apple will release anything, we can only expect it. You can't be 'pissed off' if you buy now and something new comes out. A media event is scheduled on January 26th. One can only ASSUME that something new is coming out. I dont think you'll see much difference in speed in the 13" model vs lets say the 15" or 17".

As every single thread like this is posted, the best response is 'BUY NOW IF YOU NEED IT'

Wait

from experience, owning a baseline macbook pro, current model 13", its buggy as hell, my slower imac ran better.

i would say wait, the new iSlate or whatever may do what you want better.

I think what he meant was the there's not much they could do at the moment to improve them. Considering the size restrictions, I think he's mostly right, though discrete graphics card and Blu ray would be nice...

Also, just to clarify for the OP, Arrandale is DUAL-core, not QUAD-core.

I'm waiting until after the updates because my computer's still chugging along nicely, though it's nearing the end of its life. Battery dying, slowing down, maxing out it's harddrive, and 1 Gb of RAM looking a little lightweight. Also, it's likely the last update before I graduate from University, so the last time I can get a sizable student discount! Consequently it makes sense to buy the most up to date computer while I can get a discount, which will hopefully last me longer that way without feeling outmoded. However, if my computer dies before the updates, I 'm going to have to suck it up and buy then. People are positing a 10% increase in speed, and 10% saving on battery life, which I would class as a significant increase, but lots of people don't.

I hope that aimless ramble helped in some way.

Arrandale is DUAL-core

if its going to still be dual core what would be the point? thats stupid just wainting for a different version of the same thing.

No it's not stupid.

Dual core, but new architecture, with things like Turbo Boost and Hyper Threading.

I intended to purchase a High-end MacBook Pro 13 tomorrow,
but the rumors claim that Macbook pro line will be upgraded soon;basically with the Arrandale quad-core processors.

my question is:
will the 13 inch model get an Arrandale or any serious update that worth to wait for?
and when its gonna happen?

because if the MBP 13 had an upgrade after I purchased , I will be pissed-off.

BUY BUY BUY NOW

I normally tell people not to wait, but the 13" is definitely due for a small refresh.

At this point, I would not pay retail price for a 13." Get it if you are offered an amazing deal.

The 13" is not getting a quad anytime soon.

The 13" isn't on the same cycle, but I would doubt that that it doesn't receive a minor update. Especially considering that buying a MacBook over a MacBook Pro seems to be more logical for a lot of users.

Thanks for sharing. Now we all know that you don't know how to use a Mac properly.

No need to be rude. It's his personal experience.

Obvious troll is obvious troll. The guy's "experience" clashes against something called reality...or science.

Slower iMacs do not run faster than faster MacBooks. The guy clearly doesn't know how to use a computer.

I see too many noobie posts like his on the net. Troll A says, "This brand new top of the line HP sux! My 4-year-old Dell runs faster!"

What bugs is the guy experiencing? We haven't heard of widespread bugs plaguing the 13" MBP.

...and the best part about that trolling response is that the guy recommends the "iSlate" (which it is not even officially called) instead. LOL. If that isn't trolling this thread, then I don't know what is. Perhaps he could have recommended a toaster.
