big box export

as i will be going to the usa in a couple of weeks for business, i will be taking home a new mac pro in the box.

so does any one have the EXACT size and weight specs of the box with a mac pro (2009) in it. i will need these values in order to ship the box as cargo or maybe as checked bagage in the hold of the aircraft.

with the current exchange rate and applicable taxes, my profits would still be around 550 euro's (approx. USD 750). if the customs guys are not paying attention, then my profits would be more :)

Impuesto al Valor Agregado (IVA) :)

Ok thanks for the explanation, now I dont feel so angry at Apple. heh ! :) What I might do I buy one the next time I am in USA, because when you go through the airport with only one computer, they wont charge you any taxes.

About my other question, does buying AppleCare increase the selling price? Or people don't care if it has or doesn't have Applecare.

Well you should be a little angry at Apple. Their products are more expensive in Europe then in the US even when you take into account VAT and other taxes. Maybe two years back, you could buy a round trip plane ticket to NYC, get downtown, purcahse an iPod and MacBook in Manhattan for the price of a MacBook in Denmark and Norway. That's not just VAT. ;) Now as the USD has gotten a little better (and the Krone has gotten a little worse) the price difference is mostly due to VAT.
