DON'T go to the apple store,drop your pants, stick the laptop inbetween your legs and shout "I'm the king of the world"

I'm pretty sure that will void your warranty

to the OP - these guys are speaking truths - do the research, get what you need (planning to upgrade soon after is silly - best get it all from the store and be covered with the piece of mind that Apple gives you)

I am always surprised by the supposed number of music producers, filmmakers, and pro photographers that visit this site, yet know so little about the equipment they need.

I know what you mean but if I was buying the desk top now I would not have so many questions. But since I am waiting for the new ones I am buying the MBP and I don't really know what is a good choice to get for this one.

I want a tower but will wait to buy when the new ones come out.

I wasn't picking on you or anything. Just pointing out how everyone on here, when asked what they'll use it for, claims to be a music producing graphic artist photographer who produces documentaries..
