After updating to 11.4, I've noticed that the Calculator app appears a little slow. I noticed this while doing some simple calculations, like 0.6 % x 4000. Every now and then, the calculated number would take several seconds to appear.

Looking into this further, I tried clicking the PI button, and repeatedly clicked the square root button. At the same time as having Activity Monitor open. The CPU activity for the calculator app sometimes shows as much as 23%, which is a big number for a fairly powerful MacBook Pro doing something as simple as calculating a square root.

Any thoughts? Can anyone else reproduce this?

Thanks for checking. Did you try the above test, with cpu activity monitor open? This morning I'm seeng this if I click pi and repeatedly click sqrt.

Tried your test (clicking Pi and then repeated presses of Square Root). I'm not seeing any slowdown and my activity monitor shows this:
