Except maybe it should be a $1 coin that is worth $1,050+ in 14 years.

When Cook took over, Apple's market cap was $350M. It's now more than $3.7 trillion. So if you want to put a monetary value on Cook, as you did, there it is.

Apple was worth $350 billion when Tim took over. Obviously a huge gain, but your numbers are slightly off. ;)

Yes, now kids are passive. They take “an app” (because software was not cool and more important could haven’t registered as a trademark) and play. In the past you had to learn. Yes, it was an exercise.

It’s a shame you consider that guy an innovator…
I wouldn't be able to remember how to install and run a DOS game even if my life depended on it, and I used to do it all day every day for years. But I'll never not know how to install an app on my iPhone.

Seems someone wants to make sure Apple stays in CA rather than join other large companies that have already left.

I do not like hero worshipping in any shape or form. People who do the worshipping tend to lack social awareness.

Texas's coin has a NASA astronaut during a space walk at the ISS. The design was picked for Mission Control at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. The first designs submitted, showing the complex, were too boring, so eventually they turned their eyes toward the stars.
Having been in Mission Control,I would have liked it but an astronaut doing a spacewalk is no doubt better; given few would realize what it is with a label, unlike an astronaut.

🤣 No kidding. Here in Canada, a dozen quality eggs costs $8.00 or more now. A bag of chips, which has fewer chips inside, costs $5.00! Or $7.00 at convenience stores like 7-11. Seriously? Prices are doubling! Incomes are not.

The question is ... did Steve Jobs help to foster this economy that we're living in now? I love the guy like any other fan, but one must wonder if Apple's pursuit of fortune and fashionable design didn't help to create a wider gap in society-defined income classes.

On one hand, they make quality gear that lasts for years. On the other hand, the "need" for high-priced "stuff" has increased personal debt to new levels never seen before.
Family farms for eggs and other things. Better nutrition, value and support local.

I think Steve would be cool. When I asked my wife who should be on an ‘American Innovation’ coin, she said Stephen Hawking. It would be interesting to see his face on a coin…

I would not say that it was his prime, but he was definitely looking good here compared to the end. And I think it is a respectful decision to represent him this way.

The dichotomy with Job’s health is that this is a man of extreme wealth and great intellect, yet he delayed medical intervention because he thought he was going to cure his cancer by not showering and drinking carrot juice.
That's pretty much nonsense, according to his wife who ought to know.

In addition, Jobs survived eight years before dying of the disease on Oct. 5, 2011. The five-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer is only 10%. (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network)

Nonsense? I could post many sources, but I don’t want to spend my time on it, so take this one and trust it if you want or not: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Jobs then the chapter on “Health problems”.

Jobs had a rare, highly curable form of pancreatic cancer, the only form of pancreatic cancer with a high survival rate.

After being diagnosed, his doctor recommended immediate treatment, Jobs refused and instead went to a shaman, a spiritual leader and consulted with herbal experts. He tried acupuncture, herbal remedies, cleansing, etc. it was only after 11 months of these stupid treatments that he decided to follow on his doctor’s original recommendations. He acknowledged it was a mistake, his doctor said the same, his biographer did too. Read about it.
