I was in the same boat, I was with Sprint and had an HTC EVO 4, nice phone, but wanted an iPhone, I am looking forward to ios5 and icloud, that helped me what the iPhone. What also helped was being able to buy a 32gb refurbed unit for $199 and getting a 24% monthly discount, so in all I am not paying that much more than I was at Sprint, I also have it set up at Sprint to where I can come back and get my 25% discount, I was with them for 7 years.

So my plan, use the iPhone 4 with ATT for awhile, maybe next Spring/Summer the iPhone 6 or an upgraded iPhone 5 will be out, that gives me time to knock down the $350 etf, it comes down $10 each month I am with them, Sprint will give me a $125 credit for porting back, at least as of now that is what the program states and it could end by then.

I just got tired of the hype, rumors, etc, it is what it is, I am not going to be all sad when the iPhone 5 comes out and I do not have one.

I had an original iPhone and an iPhone 3G. Skipped the 3GS and was prepared to get the iPhone 4 at launch. I thought I needed a break from the iPhone and went with the HTC Evo with Sprint. The phone works well enough but I miss the ease of use of the iPhones. I recently surprised my wife this past May and got her a white iPhone 4 and I'm even more remorseful I didn't get one last June. I'll be waiting till the iPhone 5 (4S) comes out but my wife couldn't be more happy with the iPhone.

Awesome! Your not too crazy, but I have to say I am skeptical of iPhone 5 visually. I am afraid it will not look as good as the iPhone 4 (which IMO is the best looking Apple product of all time). I am afraid of the curved glass rumors, the large screen rumors...ect.

hey no biggy, my mom got one yesterday and is thrilled. She said even IF the five was out the would get the 4. (Cause they sell the previous model for less and my Dad also has an iPhone which he got a few months ago and they share accesories and cases  )

The iPhone 4 is an incredibly solid device. A very clear and gorgeous screen, near perfect form factor, fast enough for 95% of people who would use one, and best battery life I've seen on a smart phone.

Will the iPhone 5 get a 8MP cam, FaceTime HD, A5 dual-core cpu, and 1GB RAM? Probably, and it will rock but there's no denying that the iPhone 4 can still compete with the best of them despite being almost a year and a half old.
