Call me impatient, but Apple dropped the ball.

Hey All -

My roommate and I ordered the vIphone at the same time on Feb. 3rd. He ordered through the Verizon store before it started throwing error messages, I ordered through the Apple store.

His arrived today from Tennessee via FedEx, my phone being shipped via UPS coming from Hong Kong and doesn't arrive until tomorrow at the earliest. Why these phones weren't in a warehouse somewhere states side is completely beyond me.

Maybe I'm just green with jealously that he is using the iPhone while I'm stuck with the ******** Blackberry Storm2 for another day.

My 2 cents.
 
Once and for all there is no Verizon iPhone. There is only an Apple iPhone. The network on which you choose to operate it is immaterial.

Actually, they told me that they coordinated with Verizon, FedEx and UPS so that everyone would get theirs on the same day. Not the end of the world that I have to wait another day... but you shouldn't really be making something up to tell customers. If you don't know the answer, just say so.

So you can complain about how they don't know where your phone is?

Dude, you gotta relax. I ordered from Apple also and would have loved to be playing with the phone right now but I'm fine waiting till tomorrow. They said the 10th, so anything before is just icing on the top. In fact, I think Verizon jumped the gun on the shipments and Apple had to scramble to ship at the same time.
 
lol u could be in my shoes.

ordered from Verizon, but instead of going from "out for delivery" to in transit. ups claims verizon put a hold on the shipment :confused:

You might get your hong kong package before i get mine lol.. fail.

Apple has done this before; shipped the phone and had them held for final delivery at the last mile. You should be happy that they didn't do it this time, or you would have been waiting until Thursday
 
Chill m8, the storm is bad yes, but not THAT bad lol. Just wait, itll arrive soon. I suggest some calming yoga to the tune of the Grateful Dead

Actually, you are 100% wrong. There is a VERIZON iPhone, which will not work on AT&T and a AT&T iPhone which will not work on Verizon. Therefore, there are two different versions of the iPhone, one being Verizon and the other being AT&T.

So if I have a questions specific to my Verizon iPhone which may not apply to the AT&T iPhone, would you rather me say "I have a question about my Apple iPhone being operated on Verizon"?

Yeah, just the same way Orange and...whatever else they have in the UK do.

True, but it has a different Chip, Antenna design, vibration motor, and different logos on the back.

So yeah its not the same as all the GSM phones but it's close.

Actually the CDMA chip supports GSM too, but theres no SIM card slots on it.

What he means is that the phone doesn't belong to Verizon the way that every other Verizon phone (specifically ANDROID) has Verizon logos, Verizon branding and tons and tons of Verizon crapware preinstalled. This iPhone, TO THE END USER is exactly the same as the AT&T iPhone. The end user doesn't notice a difference in the lines on the antenna, or loudness of the vibration motor.

Except the Verizon one can make a call.

With the new rumors of a GSM+CDMA iPhone, hopefully we can just call the next iPhone ... "iPhone".

Actually sir, you are wrong.
There is an iPhone 4 on AT&T, and then an iPhone 4 on Verizon. Neither Apple nor Verizon nor AT&T have ever called it "Verizon iPhone", etc.
