Really MacRumors??? This is about an iPhone CASE company problem... not Apple.

I can understand the rumor mill might be a little slow right now, but if you don't have anything interesting to say, don't say anything at all.

Lol

The funny thing is, when Apple buys something like a case for their stores, their suppliers indemnify them against prosecution for just such incidences.
As such, Apple will hand off this action to the Hex Lawyers.

The other thing is, they don't look enough the same, and neither company has name recognition. If Hex doesn't settle, they might actually win this suit. Of course, it may cost more than it was worth to fight it.

It'll be funny if Apple disallowed Callet to use the iPhone trademark on their website / marketing material / product packaging due to this frivolous lawsuit.

Why haven't credit cards died already???

Why do we still have to carry extra pieces of plastic in the form of credit cards now attached to a smartphone? Why can't the smart phone carry the data? When are these ancient pieces of plastic; stored in torn dirty wallets going to vanish from the Earth???????

When NFC equipped phones and smart watches becomes the norm.

Fixed that for you.

You seriously want to put your eggs in one basket? You want your phone to also be your wallet so when you lose your phone then you have nothing?

Do you not have any sense of privacy? At least with credit cards, you can easily cancel them or even have prepaid/temporary ones.

You are best off using CASH. Trust me on this. I work for big brother. We are watching everything you buy/sell/trade.

Both are ugly. I don't see why anyone would want to put their credit cards behind their iPhone.

Those designs are completely different. One looks like a bulky piece of SkyMall crap, and the other looks half decent

Seriously right? I swear they should rename the site to ****rumors because that's what these rumors have become lately. Actually this isn't even a rumor. Go figure

It's NEWS and rumors.Look at the top of the page and actually read it.
And relax.Nothing more"important"was bumped in favor of this article.

Doubt they will win. Especially not against Apple for selling a product. But that's what you do: find everyone you can sue against and let the courts trim it back.

Yep. Rather like with iTunes content when you contract with Apple to sell something they likely have you sign that you owned or have obtained all required legal rights and assume all responsibility if this is not the case.

I think they're horrible ideas. The last thing I need is for somebody to jack my phone AND my credit cards in one fell swoop. Not to mention, hold one of those up to your ear to talk and you make yourself a bigger target to thieves.

I have a similar one that I use to hold my metro card but I agree that I would never out my drivers license or credit cards in such a thing. Too nervous

If you don't see anything interesting to read, add to the amount of your time wasted by complaining about it to no effect whatsoever,eh?

Apple seems to be getting themselves in more trouble than most others nowadays...

I wonder why... Its like a weekly think now.

I'm not surprised.

Recommend a Boycott

I highly recommend a boycott of this company's products. Including Apple in the lawsuit is a clear move to go after deep pockets and is obscene. Having a battle with your competitor (still don't see the issue) is one thing, but it's a childish move to include a company which has no control over its accessory suppliers. The only logical connection is the money and I'm not interested in doing business with them. Send the message where it hurts.
