A friend and I were discussing childhood toys the other day and I ran across this thread while trying to find the name of a toy we both had but couldn't recall specifics other than it was a bunch of clear plastic globes with connectors to hook them together and that some of them would have gears and things inside so you could make stuff that moved.

Wow, was that really one sentence? Anyway, we were both fuzzy on anything beyond that. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like Capsela to me, I LOVED these when I was a Kid.

Geek needs help

Okay guys, I really need your help.
I'm looking for the name (and possibly an image) of an electronic game (possibly more from the 80's) that was made of plastic (white) with 9 colored buttons (back lighted) and sounds. You could play 10 (maybe 12) different games like: baseball, roulette, simmon, etc.

Was it Mr. something...?

Anyway, here's a basic drawing from the game (top and left):

...Forget about the proportions, I'm working for the Apple patent department... ;)

can't forget Shogun Warriors

I had these in the late 70's and then they were pulled off the market because a couple of kids shot the spring loaded projectiles down their throat and died.

My mom saw the news report and ,of course, took away my favorite toys:(

Shogun warriors were freaking sweet! I had two of them. This one and the fire one. Loved them. I had the three foot ones, can't tell from the picture how tall this one is. Shot his fists and little red rockets! They were freaking killer!!!!

Pivot Pool

Another fun game, Anyone else had a Pivot pool table?

I found a canister of Clink-a-links at a garage sale a couple of years ago. I bought them because I had never seen, nor heard of them, and the container looked older. I brought them home and could not find anything on the web about them.

Today I dug them out of my closet and decided to search the web again. This time I came across this forum. Yay! I'll post a couple of photos of the ones I have.

I have just ordered a wooden, what is called the 'Nostalgia Edition' of the wonderful detective board game, Cluedo. When I was a child (some few decades ago), and even as a teenager, I loved that game and played it endlessly with siblings and a cousin whom we were very close to.

Now, I have bought it as a gift for the two exceedingly articulate, (from birth their parents addressed them in full sentences, despising baby talk; from early childhood, the children responded with full grammatically correct paragraphs by way of reply), nerdish, well read and utterly delightful children (whom I like a lot) of two very good friends of mine; both children and adults enjoy board games, in which I have been encouraged to participate on recent visits.

Of course, I admit to kidding myself, but only a little. While it is a gift for the charming pair, I guiltily confess that I fully expect to be an active participant in a game of Cluedo sometime fairly soon.
