"The ultra wide-angle lens has an f/2.4 aperture and no optical image stabilization like the other lenses in the iPhone 11 Pro Max, ....." So they will add that as a selling point for next years model. 🙄 I know nothing about cameras, other than point and click. Why couldn't they add that to this years model?
It’s more difficult and costly to make wide angle lenses with a large aperture. And then quality comes into play. Even expensive fast lenses often have dark and blurry corners unless stopped down. Also stabilization is not as critical for wide lenses as it is for telephoto, but yeah it’ll be a selling point if Apple adds it next year.

Can someone for the love of god show the iPhone 11 night pictures compared to XS with NeuralCam? Why is everyone showing the 11 with the fancy night shots and the XS without? Not really comparable if you aren’t using a third party app on the XS....

I’m reading here and there that some people are having issues with 11 pro drastically changing white bal since back and forth non stop. anyone experienced this?

I am looking at them on a 32" 4K monitor. My opinion stands.

Maybe I have been spoiled by my mirrorless camera but when I print out the images produced they just look very noisy to me. There is also a lack of sharpness. I think the image sensors and the lenses on these phones are basically too small to produce quality results.

Well lit steady shots aren't a differentiating factor anymore.

Take iPhone X, XS, 11 Pro or maybe even 7 and the differences are going to be minor.

Movement, low light or video are scenarios where the newer cameras really make a difference.

You both are. Once the 'glitter' wears off you will see that it won't feel much different except the money you threw out the window. :) Its your business of course but I think people who update yearly are totally insane (unless its the US program that you get it by default).
:)
I know much worse ways to waste money tbh...

I suggest shooting in RAW. Even better, use image stacking to get DSLR-like quality (without the depth of field of course)

We were in at Best Buy looking at the 11 pro max. I held up my iPhone 7+ In comparison and my friend was shocked to see that my screen was wider than the 11. The 11 was taller.

When printing out larger formats I agree, it does show it's weakness.

Upgraded to iPhone 11 Pro Max from XS Max and have seen barely any change. If I wasn't on the ATT Next Every Year plan, I would say SKIP.
I’m even on the Next Every Year plan and I’m thinking of waiting for the next phone. The XS will be paid off, & I will be in a better position to get a deal on the 12. Getting a bit tired of the hype every year that the new phone is soooo much better than the one I paid $1300+ for less than a year ago.

I tested both iphone side by side, the 11 pro max and XS max. As said by others in this column, the 11 pro max is warmer in its tones than the XS max and the pictures more yellow. One thing to remember is that no photographer publish his photo without post treatment on either photoshop, Apple photo , Lightroom or else. One could conclude that for a starting image, both 11 Pro max and XS max are very good tool and that the final result after post production will be of equal quality. The secret is in the post treatment and of course the technicien... ;) the three photo below are from iphone XS max.

My cat photography is already 100% better.

It was precisely those two photos that prompted me to seriously consider upgrading when I did.

Read the DisplayMate review on the 11 Pro Max display a day or two later, & then picked-up an 11 Pro Max at noon the next day, weeks ago.
