Camera on iPhone 7 plus freezing; focus issues

I had a iPhone 7 for about a week or so before exchanging to the plus and did not experience this issue with that phone.

Tried everything still doesnt open on 1st try. Does open after a few trys, annoying as f**k.
 
Same problem here. Glad I found this thread. Like another here, I found just swiping up and force-closing camera app and restarting takes care of it, but the issue is that after all that, I may have lost the shot I wanted.

It's disheartening that someone on 10.1 beta is still having the issue.

I can confirm the issue is not fixed. Just had the issue this morning and I am on the latest 10.1.

A quick fix (without having to restart phone), is to swipe to "video", then go back to "Photo" mode within the stock app.

Same here. It happened to my wife's phone and Apple swapped it out and it's happening to the replacement. I'm not sure if I should get another replacement or try the 10.1 beta to see if that fixes the issue.

Iphone 7 Plus Camera Freeze after updated to ios 10.1.1.

And today I updated my Iphone 7 Plus to IOS version 10.2 beta 2 and nothing happened. The camera still freeze. Very disappointed :(
Waiting for ios 10.2 Final, maybe.
 
I got the iPhone 7 plus I have it on 10.1.1 and hasn't freeze, I don't have this issue tbh

My iphone 7+ just started doing this, the PHOTO, VIDEO, PORTRAIT, SQUARE mode no longer work. very odd, I can download a 3rd party camera app from the app store, and it works fine, though I cant tell if the app is making use of the zoom lens or not, even though it does do what looks like a digital zoom-

I've reset the phone, no luck, then restored it, same deal, hasnt fixed it- it is on iOS 10.1.1 - Im guessing I will
need to bring it into a apple store? or maybe my provider??

If you take it to the Apple Store they'll probably replace it. That's what they did for me.

[doublepost=1479346428][/doublepost] My iPhone 7 plus has been doing the exact same issue since shortly after I purchased it however, since the latest beta release of 10.2 release three, I have not seen that issue. This is the longest it's gone without a reoccurrence.

Yup I hadn't even bought it from them; I bought it from T-Mobile. I think it had been about a month at the time. And apparently from what I've heard they can't replace components yet because no one is certified to work on the phones (Apple employees included) until the training materials come out in the early part of next year.
 
My 7 Plus has has this issue perhaps 12 times. Only thing is, it's when I really want a photo...quick!!!
Sometimes it's a black screen and sometimes its tries to focus but never quite settling.

I don't have the same issue when I slide to portrait mode! Is there a way to test each lense?

Iphone 7 plus 32 gig gold ios 10.2 ... reporting the same issue no problems with cam app during the whole month of owing until 2 days ago .. open the cam app in morning to meet black screen and frozen cam app restarting the phone fixed it

And now after two days again today this happened twice once when i opened the cam app and second time when i switched to portrait mode in my room it just jammed at blur screen


Strange thing is that when i open cameras on instagram facebook messenger and whats app both cameras work there few times they wont work in snapping mode of fb messenger n whats app making the app crash but they always work when making video calls from these apps


Just downloading ios 10.2 again on my laptop to set my iphone as new

Any one has got this on ios 10.2 too?
