A 3 or 4 year old low-end laptop would be more accurate. For low-res video editing, its really the single core CPU and screen size that hurts on a netbook. I edited on my home movies on iMovie on my C2D MacBook which has the same RAM speed and HD speed as a netbook with very little trouble. It may be bearable with an ION-based netbook hooked up to an external monitor or perhaps a dual core netbook in the near future but not with the current Wind.
Ok, I stand corrected. The restart doesn't work. I have to shutdown and power up again. That's it. But how often do I do that? Close the lid, it sleeps, and everything else you could imagine works.
To the guy who thinks the Atom can barely surf the net....what are you on brother? I run VM fusion, MacTheRipper, and anything else I run on my Powerbook. I'm beginning to think that some people here have zero experience with what I'm even talking about and are simply against it. Whatever......My Minitosh runs like a top and almost fits in my pocket, If I were closer I'd bet you all a beer on it. Is it a MacBook Pro, no. For travel it's way better. Cheers.
