If it's a 2012 Mac mini quad core, the max RAM is 16GB. If you're using 32GB, it's another Mac model and not a mini.

Did you not notice with your advanced brain that OP is asking about DDR3 memory here, not DDR4? Mac mini 2012 is using DDR3 memory (1600 MHz was more or less standard in that, but if I remember correctlya, there were some 1866 MHz modules). Last edited: Jul 26, 2023
