Hey its your choice and you can do whatever you want with your device.
I been JB since the original iphone back in 2007 and follow the JB dev scene a lot to know that doing it the easy and lazy way that you're referring above is not good for various different reasons that I wont go into detail about.
Good luck.

I've been following the jailbreak dev scene closely since 2007 as well. If my method stops working for me, I'll go back to restoring. Until then...:)

I used some backup tools years ago. They sucked. It's the main reason I am not interested in dabbling in a jailbreak until we have something bulletproof. Especially if I have to pay for it. Just my opinion of course.

I guess I've been lucky. My jailbreaks have been remarkably stable. :D

My hardest thing to overcome is the no back button. I keep tapping on an imaginary area on the phone where my brain is programmed to hit a back key but of course it's not there in an iPhone. This a tough one to get used too.

Exactly, its your choice.
Like going skydiving. You like living on the edge I see:D lol
I like playing it safe.

Except when I finally have an "update" jailbreak problem, it's not the end of the world. I simply restore and carry on.

"Living on the edge" as far as jailbreaking isn't really a scary thought to me. Dying from a heart attack concerns me more.

Is there a JB app like AdAway or AdFree ? I don't want to see ads in my browser or apps.

Adblocker2 didn't really help much with Ads, but I have been using a tweak called Untrusted Hosts Blocker that works great on blocking Ads in apps and browser, even the ones in Cydia. ;)

That's a bit silly. That situation will apply to everyone.

That's the reason I want to be 1000% sure I have a stable and trouble free jb installation so I don't get stuck with issues and no options available when the jb gets patched.
I know not everyone cares as much but I enjoy my device jb better than on stock iOS version and willing to go the extra mile for it.

Funny, I didn't want to be stuck without a jailbreak, so I jailbroke my iPhone just to have the Cydia app, but wasn't planning to install any tweaks or utilities for theming yet. I did change my icons today... so now I have the bug for modding again. :)

It was never a matter of stability for me, honestly. I, too, did the jailbreaking when it was dozens of steps. Back then there were no restore options. Now there are, but all of my settings don't come back. So I am stuck either having to remember what features I added that didn't carry over, or just dealing without. Again, it's been since ios7 that I jaikbroke, but there are people out there stating that they still have the same issues I did years ago. In short, people able to have call bar, spring to refresh safari, change my default browser, etc. isn't worth it for me if I have to mess with stuff every time there is an update. Stock ios I just click uodate and I'm done. Until I have that same exact bulletproof functionality in a jaikbreak I am not sure I will be interested. All the must have features, for me, we're already added.
