Go into your outlook app calendar and check settings....

what calendars are selected ....may just need time to synchronise ...

Outlook doesn’t seem to give the option to add or show any other calendars so maybe that’s the issue?

Ah okay i see this:

However neither of those are my iCloud ones where all my appointments are

Okay ....that clears that up.

what about try adding a dummy calendar entry on your iphone CALENDAR app and see if it syncs with
1. iPhone outlook app calendar
2. Outlook desktop calendar

maybe we need to ‘force’ a sync ...

Just to clarify, you want to see your iCloud calendar to appear in Outlook?

Or your Outlook calendar appear in your Calendar app on your iPhone?

I shall try this!

I'm not sure there's a straightforward way to do that. You could set things up where you see your Outlook calendar in your Calendar app on your iPhone and then basically use that as your calendar (so that anything you add/remove/change there would actually be right in your Outlook calendar). That way you'll just be using your Outlook calendar (instead of iCloud calendar) and will see it on your iPhone and in Outlook.

Your calendar data won't magically appear in outlook just by enabling both iCloud and Outlook on the phone. Like I said, you need to transfer the data to outlook. By enabling both iCloud and Outlook all you do is add an empty calendar to your already existing one.

But it seems I know wrong or someone knows better.

I have my calendar app and outlook app all linked to the same outlook email address on iphone, ipad and desktop PC.

when the link was setup I disconnected my calendars on iphone & ipad from icloud.

All calendars keep in sync on all platforms which is what you would expect.

calendar “backup” is handled by outlook ‘cloud’

Yeah I'm totally lost now so I'm just going to leave it as it is, it's not a big deal, it was just a 'nice to have'.

Thanks all for your patience! :)

It's not too hard if you use a single calendar (like just the Outlook one) that you want to access from different devices/apps, but can be trickier if you use different calendars (like iCloud and Outlook) and want to have access to all from different devices/apps.

I've had a lot of trouble with this historically, but either (most likely) Microsoft or Apple have made a recent change that makes it easier.

All of the posters above have an insane level of patience, complicated by the OP not knowing about iCloud, or that you can use an Outlook email address as / in your iCloud ID. I guess I've just been doing this too long, it's far from intuitive for newer users.

Anyway, adding a 'personal' iCloud calendar into a 'work' Outlook calendar is in my experience best done on a computer - make the iCloud calendar publicly shared and then copy the link into Outlook.com (via a browser, not the PC / Mac client):

If I remember correctly, the tricky part is exporting in the right format from iCloud. I remember trying to convert the exported database with an online tool because outlook wouldn't accept the file format.

Okay slight update from the moron here...

So, I discovered that if I open a meeting on my iPhone calendar and edit it, I can change the 'Calendar' it is associated with, and if I change it to the Calendar under 'Outlook', then it stays on my phone, but also shows up in Outlook!

So I have now set the iPhone calendar default to the 'Outlook' one... so any new appointments I now create, show on the iPhone and in Outlook!

I realise this may well be what you guys were telling me all along 😂 but I am happy as it seems to have kind of achieved what I wanted...!

👌🤞

let’s hope it continues to deliver what you need ...

keep an eye on things...just in case.
