I have downloaded bonjour and it automatically allowed my time capsule to show up in my network places, local network. What security can i set so that nobody else can access t'capsule if they just download bonjour to?

Check out post #10 above. As long as you have something set in the "Secure Shared Disks:" option, you should be OK. And make sure you're running WPA to protect the wireless part of your network. :)

Hi, I made some changes as per post #10 and set a disk password, however I can still see and access my time capsule via another computer in the network places folder without having to input any passwords. What changes do I need to make so that I need to input a password, ie anybody else that can see it cannot access it.

Many thanks

Is the Airport Guest Disk Access setting set to "No Access"? It's in the same part of the Airport Utility.

Making space on the hard drive

Sorry to be dumb, but can you answer this for me? I am using my Time Machine & Capsule successfully. But my desktop hard drive is full. Can I delete things from my hard drive to make more room and be assured that they will stay on the Time Capsule?

At some point, when the Time Capsule becomes full, it will start overwriting old backups (with your permission), so depending on how you handle that situation, things may not always stay on the Time Capsule.

You might consider getting an inexpensive external USB hard drive for your Mac, and leave the Time Capsule just for backups.
