Why did you delete TM backups like that?

If you want to delete a TM backup, you should enter it through the GUI (Time Machine in Applications folder) and hit the gear button on the Finder window and hit "Delete Backup."

Sending the folder to the trash will give you hell.

Nothing has worked for me

I'm hoping somebody can help.
After literally days of trying to save a corrupted TM sparsebundle from my Time Capsule (Disk Warrior, Tech Tool Pro, Disk Utility....), I finally decided to delete it and start again(ridiculous solution for a backup device!)
After much research, I managed to finally delete all the files in the Bands directory, and then the Bands folder, but am now left with my sparsebundle directory (now empty)
I have tried to delete this in Terminal, using the rmdir command, and finally the sudo rmdir command, but keep getting a Permission Denied error.
I cannot find anything else online that would hint at a more powerful way to delete a directory than sudo rmdir, so am now at a complete loss, with many many many hours of my life that i'll never get back.
I have also tried to reset the permissions using chmod 775 (maybe that isn't the correct use?)
Any ideas would be hugely appreciated. I really don't want to erase my entire Time Capsule, as I have 2 working backups from a laptop and an iMac.
How can I delete this sparsebundle from my Mac Pro?
Thanks.
