So, I’ve heard that burn in is super rare. Well, I’ve had my iPhone 13 pro max for around 6 months, and I noticed last night, that when I have lowered my screen brightness to around 20 percent, I can see burn in of an app I use all the time (Apollo). Is this burn in or image retention. I still see it today, so I’m leaning to burn in.

Burn in on a phone is pretty rare especially since burn it is typically caused from static images. Only time I've seen burn in is in the Apple store where they keep the display at 100% brightness and on 24/7. Even then its still hit or miss since, like I said, it requires a static image to be on for an extremely long period.

I would need to see a picture but it would be impressive if you managed to do that ha.

Reboot the phone and then check for retention again.

That’s weird :/

You mean the app icon is burned in? The app interface is burned in? More info please ?

I have an 11 Pro Max that I leave the screen on from around 10pm to about 4am each night (bedside clock). I've done this with every smarphone I've owned.

The clock I use is digital, dark blue with a solid black background. The brightness is down when the clock is on. Not sure how I'd notice any burn in from that.

Pics plz! Probably restart the phone for good measure, then take a pic of your phone while displaying a solid white background (or a different color if it shows it better).

That is rare. How often do you use the app?

Hey, guys. I’m sorry I haven’t provided an update, I’ll try to get a picture to you all tomorrow. Yes, I use Apollo a lot (probably too much). Yes, I restarted my phone and it’s still there. But I can only see the icons when my brightness is at the lowest it can go. Again, I’ll try to get a picture tomorrow.
