Under Macs → macOS → Older OS X Versions, there are sections for Mountain Lion, Lion, and Panther (!), but no Snow Leopard.

Is there any possibility we could get a Snow Leopard section? (Or maybe get it restored, if it existed at one point?) I'm sure it wouldn't be super active, but it seems like such a venerated release should get a section.

A lot of recent Snow Leopard discussion has been taking place in the Lion forum, which obviously isn't ideal:

Surely if Panther deserves a section, Snow Leopard does?

I agree that it seems strange that Panther(what a TERRIBLE OS that I can't think of a single use for in 2020, whereas nearly anything that will run will run Tiger as fast if not faster and with things like an up to date browser) has a section while an OS with some legitimate legacy uses doesn't have one.

BTW, my most capable Mac-my heavily upgrade MP 5,1-runs SL because I use it to interface with legacy hardware, and I'm generating files with that legacy hardware that benefit from 12 cores and 32gb RAM.

SL does slowly keep getting web stuff chipped away, but none the less it still can. As an example, 6 months ago, I could access Slack in Firefox ESR 45, albeit with a user agent spoofer. That's completely quit working now. I use that same Mac Pro to manage the iPod classic I use in my car. Even back in November or so, I had full access to the iTunes store to buy stuff or download things purchased on another device. A few weeks ago, I tried to download a few recent purchases, and had to give up after an hour of trying-I ended up manually transferring them on a USB stick.

With all of that said, an unlikely but none the less useful resource for SL help is the PowerPC forum. Since most of the product-specific Intel fora are infested with "upgradeitis"(it's 3 years old-time for a new one) and the administration won't set up an early Intel forum, the PPC forum has become something of a a defacto home for help with things like pretty much any Core2Duo Mac. Naturally, there's a lot of Snow Leopard knowledge, especially since 10.7-10.10 aren't that great of OSs.

Yes, happy that Snow Leopard is back and on the forum. Still use it actually on one of my older systems. Use Arctic Fox on it. Just download and install. Still updated in 2020. Many thanks to the Arctic Fox team to still provide a browser that works on Snow Leopard!
