It can be done quite...

1) Create or pick a folder you want to hide it away in.

2) Select another app you want to folder (you can just take one out of a folder to use for this) and move it into the folder.

3) As you you "drop" the App into the folder, immediately drag Newsstand in after it. It should folder.

Just note that if you want to access Newsstand you'll need to take it back out of the folder as it will crash Springboard if you try and access it.

edit: Actually this is quite hard to do on the 4S, sorry guys . On my iP4 the whole process is very slightly slower you have enough time to drag Newsstand in.

It's easy to do!

Create a new folder and then quickly move newsstand into that folder while its creating. Yes, timing is important, you might have to try it several times to get it to work!

I learned the hard way this morning after trying several times to folder it that it can't be put in a folder.

This does work folks. I did it a few days ago....on a 4s too. I put 3 items in a row with newsstand in the middle. I dragged the 3rd item over the 1st and as soon as I dropped it, I immediately reached over and grabbed newsstand. Worked on the first try.

Yes you can put it in a folder...follow the directions above...it works, but timing is everything

You forgot to say that it works, for now.

The reason we are able to do this now is because of a bug in iOS 5.0, but I'm sure Apple will release a software update in the future that will fix this.
