Ok so my question is... Now in iOS 8 can you get rid of the contacts at the top of the multitasking. I don't like see something above the apps and don't feel I need that. Can some on using iOS 8 tell me if that can be turned off? Thank you

You're one tough guy to please aren't ya?

First you don't like the predictive typing now you don't like this convenient feature. You may want to stay on iOS 7 I don't see Apple removing either.

correction: You actually CAN turn off predictive typing by clicking the smiling face and choosing the option (just read it in another thread)

You can scroll between Favorites and Recents but doesn't look like you can get rid of them.

I'm actually quite fond of the feature to be honest.

P.S. I stablized iOS 8 Bets 1. itunes was stuck in a loop because it couldn't read the apps on my phone when syncing? I uninstalled all apps, synced my music first then redownloaded the apps from the App Store directly. Phone is stable now. :)

I got stuck on my 5C trying to do an update instead of full restore. just biting the bullet and going full restore. Can download everything anyhow....hopefully it works. I'm exhausted lol

haha i could see this bring an issue...

Girlfriend: Why does it say your ex is one of your recent people? Why have you been talking to them?
Boyfriend: Baby... I... Baby.... but Apple doesn't allow me to turn that off!

I hope this is iPhone only. Is this also present on iPad? I would rather not see people's faces above my apps every time I switch them. Seems like an odd place to put this feature in my opinion.

Lol. Predictive typing grew on me though

If you set your "suspicious" contact numbers as only phone numbers and not as an actual contact they will not display in multitasking. Be a good memorizer like me, or keep them in your Notes...be creative...just don't confuse them...if you catch my drift ;)

Quick question: Can you remove all favorites from Contacts/Phone, and see an empty space above your apps by double tapping for multitasking? I wasn't sure if this would work or not considering you have the option for favorites only and I'm not running betas this year.

Please and thank you!

The favorites part might get cleared that way, but not the recent part it would seem.

I just don't understand this feature even a little bit. What sense does it make to put contacts in the multitasking view? It's just completely confusing. It's like they couldn't find anywhere else to put it so that's where it landed.

I think Apple sees multitasking/recent apps almost like frequently used apps as well so they kind of stuck frequently used contacts in there as well (in the form of favorites and recent). Hopefully they'll provide a way to control that at least.
