You can actually pay it off immediately. As soon as I got my 6+ Next upgrade, I went online and paid off my installments. Easy as clicking a button.

Yea the Apple store employee told me to do this. I'm on contract right now and I have until Sunday to make my return.

And I also wonder about unlocking at that point.

I am waiting to see if I get unlock code from AT&T since I just requested it yesterday.

You dont. Just walk into an apple store and buy the phone of your choice.

I was just told that I would have to wait 14 days from purchase to get mine unlocked through military orders channels. I'm trying to explore all options.

Except Apple allow you to do an online reservation for device only in the UK.

You'd think they would standardise their procedures.

I'm not doubting you, but what's the logic in preventing people from paying full price if they're eligible for an upgrade? Makes no sense, at least as far as I can see.

Does anyone know when AT&T stores will have them available at full price?

I think their hands are tied by the carriers
