yes you can absolutely pair your apple mouse with multiple apple devices

I use a Logitech Ergo M575S trackball with my Neo and have natural scrolling turned off and it has no effected how the track pad works.

I used that in college with a “PC” laptop because, in Logitech's own marketing wordage:

I still use that mouse, although with a desktop PC, but for the same reasons (i.e., desk space constraints and any surface).

I was using a couple Logitech MX Anywhere mice but have since switched to Logitech trackballs which helps with my arthritic wrists.

The Logitech mice and trackballs connect and work fine with my Mac mini, Neo, iPad Air and Windows computers.

You might give the built-in trackpad a try and see how you like it first. I liked it so much I ditched the mouse on my desktop Mac long ago and switched to Apple's trackpad there too. Lots of configuration options(some in Accessibility settings), like 3-finger drag for moving items or selecting text that I find much quicker and easier in terms of repetitive use on your hand than a mouse. One less thing to carry too.

Similar. In contrast to the OP (and some other users), I’ve switched to trackpads (or trackballs, as mentioned earlier). I also have a combo keyboard + trackpad for another PC as well as a mini combo version, originally purchased to use with a Raspberry Pi.

I just don’t love trackpads, so I’m wondering if I can use a wireless mouse with it. I looked at the specs online, but am missing any detail about it if it’s there.

I just ordered the Logitech M575S trackball for my Neo. I don't like having to move a mouse all around. Trackball is the only way to go for me and I have used this trackball in different versions for many many years.

That's the catch, if you don't use a Magic Mouse, you will feel that it's bad but after using it for a while you should be fine !

haha! I Was gonna say the same thing. I've had issues in the past with bluetooth mice on Windows (to be fair, my current work laptop works great with bluetooth mice), but mice that support proprietary dongles & bluetooth are not a bad idea if you plan to use the mouse with both windows & macs.

Well I’ve owned the Magic Mouse for a few years and also own other more ergonomic mice such as my Razer Basilisk v3 pro, hell even my old cheap Logitech M720 was a way better mouse.

I got the Magic Mouse because I had some Apple gift card left over when I got my m2 air. And I hold onto it as a back up as it fits much better in my thin laptop sleeve. But it’s definitely not my first pick for a mouse.

I can get plenty of gestures out of my mx master, plus chords which the Magic Mouse can't do because it doesn't have any buttons

indeed gestures are easier because you just slightly press down where your thumb is already resting and the slightly move your entire hand rather than having to cramp your fingers around the top and use it like a tiny track pad (which is what it essentially is)

I don’t know where you are getting 6 buttons from…

I could program any one button to smart zoom

I use thumb button and a slight nudge up for Mission Control

Swipe between desktops is thumb button and a subtle move of the mouse left or right

Side scroll wheel goes back and forward between web pages

Side thumb buttons go between tabs

None of this requires changing your hand/finger position.

Trust me I’ve done it both ways. it’s actually way easier than on Magic Mouse

(Quite frankly I prefer to do most of this on the keyboard where my hands usually are, but if I have my hand on the mouse then this is how I have it set up)

Mostly that Logitech Options+ used to not work right for a few seconds after sleep. Also it (used to at least) install some AI prompt builder junk which was not so fun.

I actually bought SteerMouse before, way back in 2005. Of course had to buy it again for the modern version.

I use a Incase Bluetooth Ergonomic Mouse Designed by Microsoft with my MacBook Neo-unlike Logitech's MX Master 4 for Mac, there's no customisation software for the Designed by Microsoft mice not even a Windows-only Mouse and Keyboard Center equivalent.

Works great with my MacBook Neo.

Well I have an iPP with keyboard and it has a trackpad. I’m sure at some point I’d get used to it, but I definitely don’t love it.

I have used track pads on other laptops and I hate them. But I have used trackpads on Apple laptops and they are marvelous. Before you spend the money on the mouse, try the trackpad for a week. That’s about how long it took me to fall in love with it.

Thanks for all the input! I’m not 100% sold on getting the laptop, but I’m glad to know I can use a mouse if needed. I’m sure I would try to work with the trackpad because honestly, if I was taking it places I’d like to not have to carry anything extra.
