FAQs and Helpful Information for Canadian orders

5:00am PT
6:00am MT
7:00am CT
8:00am ET
9:00am AT
9:30am NT

Apple.ca or on the Apple Store app on your iOS device.

In-store Reserve and Pickup Link:
This option is no longer available. Apple used to allow you to reserve the phone and pay in-store. You must purchase online for in-store pickup.

Affirm Financing FAQs - Apple
General Info Link:
https://www.apple.com/ca/shop/browse/financing
  • Affirm lets you finance your iPhone through Apple.ca or in-store over 24 months. 0% financing is back!
  • Any trade-in value is applied as instant credit.
  • There is no hard credit check. A soft credit check is required for identity verification only.
  • There are no trade lines opened on your credit bureau for Affirm plans.
  • Payments can be made using pre-authorized debit, and begin Monthly starting 30 days after shipment or pick-up.
  • Loan can be paid off any time without penalty.
  • Not available on the EPP store.

Shipping & Delivery FAQs
In prior years, most iPhone orders ship via UPS directly from Apple Canada’s warehouse in Concord, ON. As such, tracking will not be available until the Thursday before launch day. This is normal. However, some shipments may still originate from China, and tracking will be provided earlier for those shipments.

In-store Pickup
You may select your local Apple store for in-store pickup during pre-order. Inventory normally sells out quickly with this option. However, last year, there was also plenty of in-store pickup stock available for all models starting roughly 30 minutes before the store opened on launch day, in case you missed your desired model on pre-order day.

Previous Year’s Threads
iPhone 16 (2024)
iPhone 15 (2023)
iPhone 14 (2022)
iPhone 13 (2021)

Most likely going to pass on this year. Not a fan of eSIM only (have used before and had too many issues), I use multiple phones and the convenience of switching a physical SIM is easy. I've had every iPhone since the original and this will likely be the first time I don't upgrade. Hopefully next year will be a better upgrade.

Next year you’re going to run into the same issue, eSIM isn’t going anywhere

Not sure if I will be upgrading from 15 Pro Max. Maybe 17 Pro this time although the difference between Pro and Pro Max is $150....

Thanks for the informative OP.

I plan to order a 17PM, 256GB, Blue color direct from Apple and trade in my 14PM, 128GB. Apple is offering $570 for that trade-in. GoRecell in QC is offering $630. So not sure if I will take the $60 hit and just go with Apple or send my 14PM to GoRecell once the 17PM arrives.

I do have access to Telus EPP but haven't checked if there is any offer on the 17PM. Doubt it. I only have a month to month plan with Telus so no 2yr contract.

This is what I am going to do. Trade in my 14PM with Apple for the $570 and buy directly with Apple.

Check Orchard Phones as well for a trade in, used them several times and no problems.
I can't praise Orchard enough when it comes to selling my old iPhones. I've used them many times. One time, after I agreed to a price and sent my phone, they contacted me to say that my phone was in even better condition than I indicated, and they offered me MORE money than what I had agreed to! I mean, who does that!? They had my phone, I'd accepted what they offered for it, and they gave me more money when they didn't have to! From that point on I recommend Orchard to everyone interested in buying or selling used iPhones.

Thinking of trading in my 15 Pro Max and getting base 17. Looking to downsize and the only reason I got the Pro Max in the first place was for AOD and ProMotion.

That's great to know! Might have to give them a try.

I think I'm gonna go with the 17 Pro Max in Deep Blue. The Air would be cool to try, but coming from a Pro Max I can't justify a camera and battery downgrade. I just hope the aluminum frame of the new Pros feel more premium than the base iPhone.

Anyone else buying this year? Seems a lot quieter this year here. :(

On the fence this year. I've upgraded every year since iPhone 1 and I'm really struggling to find a legit reason to upgrade from my 16PM.

You're not alone - I'm jumping on the pre-order train tomorrow morning. Upgrading from 15 Pro Max (Natural Titanium, 256GB) to 17 Pro 512GB. Not entirely set on colour but right now I'm thinking Deep Blue. I am intrigued by Cosmic Orange but fear it'd be a novelty that wears off within a few months.

Honestly, I'm looking forward to the smaller form factor. I went with the 15 Pro Max for battery life reasons but sometimes it's a little bigger and bulkier than I'd like it to be. If Apple's battery life quotes are to be trusted, being able to move to the smaller form factor while actually gaining in battery life is about as ideal as possible for me. The increase in RAM (8 -> 12GB) and matmul acceleration in the GPU is also pretty compelling.

Aside from iPhone, I'm also moving from Apple Watch Series 9 to Ultra 3, and AirPods Pro 2 to AirPods Pro 3. No doubt Tim is pleased with me this year.

Usually upgrade every year too - I too feel conflicted about Air and Pro (missing zoom camera!) - might also keep my 16 Pro for the moment, and see the phones in person (and await camera review on Air)

I am going with the 17 PM in deep blue as well. I was thinking the air but I have the same thoughts as you with the camera and battery.
