Initiated my trade in with GoRecell the morning before the keynote for my 16 Pro Max for $1225. Checked after the keynote and it dropped to $1100.

I am going to buy the deep blue iPhone pro max. Since they are going to be eSIM only, what steps are we going to do? Do I get eSIM now then transfer to new phone when I get it? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Your carrier should allow you to install the eSIM either via using their app or by scanning a QR code. No need to convert to eSIM ahead of time, but the choice is yours.

Thank you very much. Unfortunately I have Telus , and I will go get an eSIM voucher today.

Before buying a voucher, check to see if you can do the "convert to eSIM" process on your current iPhone - see the heading "How to convert a physical SIM card to an eSIM on the same device" on the Telus support page I linked.

Telus will charge you (I think it's $10-15) for an eSIM voucher, but this way is free.

Thank you very much again. I have an iPhone 16 pro max and I followed the steps online. I converted to eSIM successfully. I guess I will just transfer when I get the new one.

Just keep in mind that your old phone is required in order to transfer an eSIM to a new phone. Do not restore the old phone until the new one is set up because you need to 'approve transfer' on the old phone.

I think I'm gonna go with the 17 Pro Max in Deep Blue. The Air would be cool to try, but coming from a Pro Max I can't justify a camera and battery downgrade. I just hope the aluminum frame of the new Pros feel more premium than the base iPhone.

Anyone else buying this year? Seems a lot quieter this year here. :(
One thing that's turning me off is that the big sell for the 15 Pro was Titanium, now the sell is aluminum. I don't like that.

The Air is a beta to the Fold next year. I won't touch it. If I'm upgrading, it's to the 17PM (Blue or Orange), but I'm not pre-ordering.

By far the best value is the regular 17. Apple knocked the regular 17 out of the park IMO.

If you do an online pick up order, are you expected to do your trade in the store or can you get the box shipped to you?
I've been told in the past that in-store/pickup orders must complete the trade-in simultaneously.

I would prefer in-store pickup myself since I had very frustrating issues with UPS last year but I want to be able to hold onto my old phone for a few days to make sure everything did transfer successfully (corporate network logins, etc).

I trade in my phone last year and it was not simultaneously. They gave me credit after 2 days after I submitted my old phone to transfer everything. You can choose credit to your original form of payment or gift card. I Beleive they give you 15 days. Just double check with the staff

Good to know! I'll take my chances with UPS again this year since I've already pre-ordered the watch and AirPods that way but in the future I may start going this route instead.

I am going with the 17 PM in deep blue as well. I was thinking the air but I have the same thoughts as you with the camera and battery.
Im moving from 16PM to Air.
Thought about it for a while and the Air is the only one that excites me this year. If I don’t like it, I’ll most likely be upgrading again next year, so not like you’d be stuck with it forever.

Same! Feels like getting the iPhone X again in terms of downgrading screen sizes but it is very exciting, yeah, it is a downgrade in screen size, camera and speaker, but willing to do it. I know what is coming next year (foldable) that will address those concerns so I want to be on the bleeding edge for a year.
