Hey Guys
Quick Q. Been playing around with my iPhone6, 64gb, Space Grey since release day. After having had the chance to play around with the bigger one, I wish I had chosen it instead. What options do I have if I received the phone through my carrier (Rogers) after reserving on their website & signed a 2-year contract?
Thanks

You can return it within 14 days provided you meet their conditions. However the 6 Plus is currently out of stock for every carrier and could take 2-3 weeks to get one unless you get it an Apple Store in which case they'll get new stock much quicker.

Rogers Rant

Rogers sucks they want to change my plan in order to get the iphone6+ on a new 2 year contract, the new plan is $30 more a month, no to mention I owe $150 to upgrade early(this I understand and have no issues) but essentialy the 30 more a month is $360 a year plus the $150 EUF thats $510

so in the long run of 2 years I am better off buying an unlocked version from apple

Depending on which 6+ you get, you'll probably be better off just buying an unlocked version. If you get the 16GB, it'll be $375 [Price of phone after subsidy] + $360 [Yearly] + $150 [Early Upgrade] + Taxes so approx $885 and an unlocked one from Apple is $859 + tax.

Not to mention to $360 i will spend next year so an unlocked phone will save me about $400 over 2 years

I had this exact problem with Rogers; I'm paying $70/month for 6gigs of data on a plan from years ago, and I kept it last time I did a hardware upgrade so I have this plan until November 2016. To do a hardware upgrade I'd have to pay an early cancellation (over $200) and upgrade my plan (would cost something like $140 for 6gigs nowadays) so it would have cost me something like $1,200 *more* to do a HWU instead of pay for the phone outright, so that's what I did. Apparently it doesn't matter anymore that you're paying >$60 for your plan; if you do an upgrade, you have to get on a current plan.
Holding onto my plan as long as possible :D

Can't return it if it's got more than 15 minutes of talk time. At least, in my experience. They may have changed this.

I'm on a $50/month Corporate plan and Rogers wants me to pay an additional $20/month to upgrade my device. I said F it and bought my 6 outright from Apple

I think it might be 30 mins now but when I wanted to return my 5S Rogers kept making me go through hoops, eventually just went to the Apple store, spoke to a manager and had Apple give me a new phone!

I don't know if Rogers will do this for existing customers but I know if you open a new account/ get a new line with them and bring your own phone you get $10 off your monthly payment, which if you're getting a phone outright from Apple might be worth looking into.

thats the same plan I am on till Sept 2015, I figure I will make my savings before my contract expires, if they try and raise the price after that atleast I am free to walk

crooks my current plan is $65 for 6GB, 250 anytime minutes, evenings starting at 5, unlimited messaging, call display they want to rasie it to $95 and are trying to spin off thats a deal becasue its normally a $125 plan

Makes sense; I was trying to return my iPhone 4 (less than 15 days) on the iPhone 4S launch day, and they said I couldn't because I had more than 15 minutes of talk time on it. I was definitely shocked because I had no idea talk time came into the equasion, and after about 20 minutes they realized my phone was bought from Apple unlocked, rather than through Rogers :p (I don't think I thought to mention that it was unlocked because I didn't know carrier-bought phones followed different rules for return.)

Anyway, I preordered my 6 online and it arrived on my desk at 9:30am on the 19th, and I still have my current plan, so I'm happy!

Lots of 6+ came into stock at stores at noon pacific time today across Canada. It looked like all stores had some stock. Pretty much gone in 15 minutes.

I've reserved a 64 Grey plus, hope I actually get it.

Yup! It was just about everywhere other than the Toronto area (with the exception of the Eaton Center). This is the exact display of which stores had what at around noon PST. https://www.iphonestock.ca/history.php?6=false&time=588&print=2014-09-22+14:49:00

Yeah, they had no idea why I got that email either even though it came directly from them. I replied to the email confirming my address and I'll call UPS Monday morning if it doesn't update.

Let us know how yours goes too!

Any update on your shipment?

That's what I'm doing, buying one outright to keep my $60/6gig plan. And avoid the $220 early upgrade fee.

I'm wondering who is so desperate for a phone still? I have two extra silver 64GB that I listed for sale for a mere $40 over retail including tax and not a single response. I'm not trying to scalp, I just bought a white and black one for myself since I hadn't decided which colour, and a white for girlfriend who decided to stick with her iPhone 5.

I tried to return them to the local store but they wouldn't take them since I ordered online. That seems rather odd. Why not take them and sell them? Now I have to waste more time doing an online refund.

While I was talking, someone next to me bought a space grey 128GB. Not sure where it came from, maybe they had just got stock.

In regard to the major carriers, I also bailed out from them this time. In the past, it was actually cheaper to get phone on contract for me. Now, with the absurd $70 minimum plan requirement and absolute pathetic plan offerings, it is far more expensive to buy subsidized.

I was on a plan that was $67 with telus. I am getting triple the voice and double the data from Koodo for $47.

Seems like Place Ste-Foy is getting restock's daily. I've seen 6+ 128GB SG twice since Saturday.

I have been trying to reserve an iphone 6 64GB space grey in any of the three Vancouver apple stores but whenever the site shows availability in that model it seems to only be available on contract and not device only.

Hoping to secure one before I move away to the mountains for winter...otherwise I will be stuck with an iphone 4 for another 6 months and lower quality photos than I would like.

If it comes down to it I will have to pay a scalper for a phone at the last minute.

If you are buying it full price without contract... just select the contract version and the "change your mind" when they ask for your carrier info.
