Just looked at the hourly forecast - Friday morning from 2am-5am looks like heavy rain - up to 3mm/hour. Not good.

I may end up doing the same. I'll drive by ours around midnight and see if there's a lineup yet. If it's crazy, I won't bother.

I think this is a good plan. If the line up late at night or even early morning is nuts, then wait for the reservations to start. I remember the 6/Plus being insane at launch and that reservation system was so helpful to snag a phone every day or so. I helped so many people that time get a 6 or Plus like that. Planning on doing the same thing for my brother and a close friend.

However with the huge price difference between the 2 phone models, do you think less people will be inclined to get the X?
iPhone 6 was huge, but I believe price didn't not get that huge jump.
iPhone X is such a different way to use the iPhone compared to the last 10 years, I hope it drives back a lot of people 😀

The 8/8+, there was lots of stock shortly after launch. Didn't sell out anything like this. I do hope the weather keeps people away. 🙂
I'll likely line up....take my camping chair, umbrella and maybe a big juice jug to pee in. 😉
Edit: What was the one thread - 96% of those polled on MR were going to get an X instead of an 8/8+ ?

By tomorrow night half of the people in this thread will be missing because there phones coming in the morning, so thank you guys for chilling here procrastinating it was great and to all my 21-28 homies hang in there with me cause I’m slowly crying the pain of waiting with you guys

We're all the same team here, until the Nov 3 get their phones and be like "so yeaa, I got my new iPhone X, it's so f great, i love it, omg so smooth, so sexy, gorgeous, swipe here and there, blabla, oops you didn't get your phone yet? oh " 😛🙁

I don't think so - that was earlier (supposedly...per all of the grumbling on the thread). It's not just one carrier either - AT&T and Verizon screen shots (from the Apple store).
