I cancelled my late Nov SG 256.

Currently have Silver 256 in-hand still sealed. If no takers, I’ll return this to Yorkdale tomorrow.

I did end up grabbing that 256 SG that I reserved in London. Grabbed a case for it (as I'm planning on returning it within the return window. Funny, sometimes they give you more than 14 days - not this time!!! :)

Hopefully we get our pre-orders early, so I don't have to go back to my 6s. :)

Haven't played with it a lot yet - got it setup in the store, then driving and cooking. Play more with it tomorrow. Gotta say - Face ID is super-fast!! :) Really pleasantly surprised how well it works!!!

Why are you going to be returning it?

Why are you going to be returning it?

Probably because the silver one he really wants is stuck in pre-order limbo and his current phone is dead. Think of it as a loaner :)

Hey Mikeeee, are you looking for a Silver 64gb? I reserved a Silver 64 at Coquitlam Centre for tonight, but I don't think I'll make it back to Coquitlam in time for booked appointment so chances are I'll be cancelling that one. Just a FYI in case you or anyone else is looking for one (I don't know if missed appointments get sent back to the Reserved inventory or Walk-in).

In past years, they would hold the reservations until closing if you missed your appointment.

So can anyone who reserved and picked up their phone today confirm that the "reserve phone with contract" doesn't actually mean what it sounds like?

Reserved (through the app) and picked up a Silver 256gb unlocked this morning. They straight up asked me if I was looking for unlocked or carrier when I arrived to check-in.

I just picked up a reservation and I can confirm you can just buy it without a contract. Got the silver one and she is purdy.

So what are you guys thinking re: daylight savings time. You think it'll go up at 5am? Or is it smart enough to know that 6 is 6.

Silver is a beaut. I originally ordered a space grey. But figured I would settle for a silver since I could pick it up nov 3. But using this it is a beautiful colour and glad I got it instead.

bunch available right now (GTA) - grabbed one in Mississauga

I completely agree. Also had SG on my pre-order but after seeing them in the store Silver was my preference this time. In actuality I'm using a 6 black which is black on the front and a silver/space grey on the back. The silver color is more similar to that then the X space grey.

Just looked at my hubby’s 6 after reading your post. Didn’t realize how much Space Grey has changed since then! I love his space grey but hadn’t seen the back in over 3 years! It is way lighter than current space grey!

@LOVIN SOUL GLO I'm returning the 256GB SG because that's more than I want to spend. I want the 64 SG, but I want to rock it naked....so that means AC+ - $1772 vs $2009.

Why I picked up the 256 SG? Because it taunted me 4 friggin' times being available at Masonville....it allows me to play with it now and then return it if/when I get my 64 SG. I still have my pre-order for the 20-27.

I also feel a little entitled considering how Apple has dealt with us this launch. It's ridiculous how much more stock the US got than the rest of the world. People were ordering from Sprint HOURS after we did and still got launch day deliveries. Then Apple adds insult to injury and delivers stock to the stores rather than filling the pre-orders. The vast majority of that stock is being grabbed by scalpers.

At the store in Waterloo (where I was foolish enough to line up at 12:30am) the 3 extra security guards Apple hired to manage crowd control for the walk-ins were there in line with their friends before an Apple exec showed up in a suit (I've since found out it wasn't the store manager). When he showed up, they dropped out of line and walked over and stayed with him. They then followed him into the mall through another entrance.
About 15-20 minutes before the doors open, a whole bunch of people came out of their cars where they were staying warm and rushed up to join the two groups at the front of the line. The doors opened at 6:30....how did they know?
All of us were yelling at them to move to the back of the line....they just smiled and shrugged their shoulders at us. This is Canada....what are we going to do? Get an assault charge?? I went from being 25th in line to 45th.
Doors opened, we lined up in front....they did a count....there was 150-200 of us (think it was one of the better turns outs of any of the stores), but the store only had 40-50 and everyone at the front took two. Long gone before it got to me.
Heh...and it seems most of the stores were given the iPhone I actually want....the 64GB SG. :(

I saw the additional security guards lazing on couches playing on their phones on my way out. That's when I figured out how those people knew when to dash from their cars.

Oh...and pretty sure both of those groups were scalpers....the one guy was coaching 4 of the girls in front of us what they were supposed to be asking for.

So, yep, I feel a little entitled to a loaner from Apple....originally when I got the reservation I was on the fence whether I'd keep it or not, but this launch has done nothing but underscore how little Apple thinks of its customers...especially those outside of the good ol' US of A. The American stores had hundreds of devices for walk-ins.

No need to justify yourself

Heh...just heading off an argument. :) I know how entitled people can be. It's easy to say "You know, someone else could have gotten that phone if you weren't so selfish!" With the long days that I've put in for pre-order and trying do to the walk-in thing, I really feel like I've earned a damn phone. :) I was joking with the guys in line that Apple should give us the phones for free for standing in the rain for 7 hours. :)

It is what it is. People are gonna be pissy. This whole thing was a cluster----.
[doublepost=1509876134][/doublepost]5AM - Reservations are OPEN!!!!

Edit: No stock anywhere though. :( Maybe there will be something when it's actually 6am? :)

Halifax has a 256 Silver. Heh...appears to be the only iPhone X available in the country this morning. :)

Edit: Guessing the only reason that Halifax is posted is they're Atlantic time....so we just may see some activity at 6am ET.
