Canadian stock update?

Finally. Here she is!

I haven't powered it up yet because it's still thawing out. (Who would have thought that it would get frozen in the UPS truck on April 23rd? Just like who thought there would be fresh snow on the ground today.)

I tried the keyboard on my lap and it felt great. Visually it's just stunning. It's much better looking in person than in photos. The Space Grey is fascinating. In some lighting it's dark grey, in other lighting it's almost silver.

Size and weight wise it makes the 13' MBPr feel like a tank.

Congrats, the Space Grey looks STUNNING... If I wasn't already invested in several other gold Apple/Beats products (especially Beats Studio Wireless headphones which I plan to pair with the MacBook), I would have been all over this colour too.

I hope you have many happy hours of taptic engineering together!

Thanks Jonny. Here's hoping your Goldie arrives tomorrow. That's a sweet colour too. I bought my wife the gold iPad Air 2 for Christmas. It's very sharp! (Alas, she's not getting an Edition Watch to match...)

Go on BestBuy.ca and search the 3 models numbers:

Space Grey is sold out, but Gold (MK4M2LL) and Silver (MF855LL) base models are at some stores. I never saw any Online stock so I dunno if there was any.

Did anyone pay for express shipping in the GTA? If so, can they tell me how long it actually took to arrive at their door after the Shanghai departure scan? Or maybe post a pic of the series of UPS Package Progress events?

UPS tells me end of the day on the 28th but I have express shipping that apple upgraded for free because I bitched at them for the lack of stock on launch day. I just need a ball park if it might show up a day early on Monday so I can arrange to be home to receive it.

Any help would be much appreciated.
 
Well UPS finally delivered my new MacBook... I'm at work so I can't really play with my new toy, but still happy that it arrived & everything seems to be working on it.

3 stores has it in montreal!!!!! Gold version only, gonna go downtown buy one after class!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a 1.1/256 space gray model from best buy today at yonge & dundas here in toronto. they had one more of these in gold when i was there today (around 3pm)

I can confirm this. Toronto Eaton Centre Apple Store had only 1 on display. The Best Buy just north of it had quite a bit of stock. I was able to get the 1.2/512 gb silver. They had no space grey in that configuration but lots of gold.

Now that I have this: where can I get USB-C cables in Toronto? Or at least a Canadian online store?

i kinda want to wait for Space Grey, I have a feeling I might end up getting it at bestbuy instead of Apple for this. :(

Picked up a base space grey at Bestbuy in Calgary AB. Silly that Apple Store doesn't have it on display or in stock. Beautiful little machine.

Saw the two display models reported at the AS downtown Montreal - one space grey, one silver, both were base 1.1 GHz variants. Technologically very impressive, they are so thin and light, however I feel like I was playing with a toy - not a bad impression, just a little weird/unexpected. None of the adapters in sight either.

Sales chick said there were none in stock, in any colour for any of the configs - that's the retail strategy part I didn't get (incidentally, there were over a dozen watch models encased in glass, but if you want one they're only taking orders).

The retail situation is ridiculous.
 
Just picked up 1.2ghz/512GB Space Grey version at bestbuy at Eaton Centre in Toronto .. the sales rep was really confused about what it is. LOL


went to Apple store after to get the dongle, they were "surprised" that Bestbuy had it (probably just pretending).

now I'm all set to try it when I get home.

Apple Store Eaton Centre has USB-C dongles?
