Little to no profit, since most orders now officially ship in June and will likely be shipped in May.

How much does a Sport go for in April or May, however, that's where the money's at.

Yes, I wouldn't be looking for profit, just to recoup most of my cost. I have a SS one due in June but want to start with my sport one which is due on launch day and then hopefully get most of my money back by selling it once the SS one arrives. We shall see.

If you plan on owning each version like most do with the iPhone, who cares if you take a loss? It's obvious you're really to pay a premium to have the latest toys, might as well enjoy them even if you don't max out a resale value. I've owned each iPhone and I don't regret the loss I take on them. I'm happy with the latest tech. When the first iPad came out, I went all out and get the cellular version and didn't care about a resale value. I just enjoyed what I had and worried about selling it when the time came. With technology, there is something that will always be better than the previous year. Go with what you want and don't worry about it. Enjoy. Life is too short to worry about money.

Good call. I might just do that. I'll have to bite the bullet and wait till June. Soneone will get there silver sport early

I very much prefer the stainless steel space gray, but it's only offered with the space gray link band. I hope Apple changes this so that consumers have a bit of option. The link band itself is more expensive than the actual Sport edition watch. So I'll prolly just get the space gray Sport edition..... But still deciding.

Exactly! If you can afford it, why not? Enjoy it.

Gosh, I guess I am the opposite of everybody here. I was all set on the Stainless Steel with the link bracelet and could not wait to get it and then I had my try on appointment and I was underwhelmed by the stainless steel and just thought the space gray sport with black sports band looks awesome. I thought I must be nuts to think the space gray sport was better than the stainless steel so I made another try on appt. and liked the space gray sport even more. To each his own, but something about the Stainless Steel looks kind of Pebble Steel cheap to me imho. Pretty happy with my choice since I also saved about $700 by not getting the link bracelet SS. For a dressy occasion, I will just use my nice mechanical watch which is pretty nice.

I should also add that looking at the pictures of the watches, the SS looks way better to me than the Sport, but seeing them in person I had the opposite reaction if that helps anybody. I would highly recommend seeing the watches in person before deciding.

I decided to order S/S so I don't wish I did a few weeks down the line. It works out only slightly more per day really.

A lucky someone will receive a sport sooner than they thought .....

I dont think there will be much profit in it. Thats not what its about. Its being happy with the product since i will wear it everyday.

There will be all kinds of profit in it. I'd be willing to bet even the aluminum versions will be fetching $700+ when they first land on eBay. Just start the auction at the MSRP and then let it go where it goes. It is their choice to bid it up and pay a huge amount just to get one. I honestly see no issue in this or have any idea why someone would feel bad about doing it. It is their money and their choice.

Agreed... I just sold a white sport for $610 on eBay two days ago. You got up early and put the work in, you deserve a profit!

Don't listen to these guys who think only Apple should ever profit..

I feel the same was as OP. However I am going to use my Sport for a week to see if I still lust for a SS. If I do, I am going to order it, and than sell my Sport when the SS comes in for a loss of $50-$100. That way I still have a watch for launch day, and get to experience both.

You won't sell it for a loss unless you want to. I don't understand why some people think only Apple deserves the profit and we "the little guys" should take the loss. If you sell it even after wearing a week you should make a handsome little profit since they are in such short supply.

Well I am going to hold onto it until my SS comes in which wont be till June at best.

Grass is always greener - make sure you aren't allowing impatience to rule your judgement - I'm sure you'll be very happy with whatever you've bought.

I might keep it until the S/S arrives then sell the sport. But if apple catch up with orders I will end up taking a loss.
